Pop quotable: "Get over here and get checked in."- California District Attorney Thomas W. Sneddon Jr., Nov. 19, 2003 at television press conference on Michael Jackson

"D.S."
From the album, History (1995)
Written by Michael Jackson

They wanna get my ass
Dead or alive
You know he really tried to take me
Down by surprise
I bet he missioned with the CIA
He don't do half what he say

Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man

He out shock in every single way
He'll stop at nothing just to get his political say
He think he bad cause he's BSTA
I bet he never had a social life anyway
You think he brother with the KKK?
I know his mother never taught himright anyway
He want your vote just to remain TA.
He don't do half what he say

Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom S. Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man

Does he send letters to the FBI?
Did he say to either do it or die?

Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man

Dom S. Sheldon is a cold man

Dom Sheldon is a cold man
Dom Sheldon is a cold man

Didn't he say Tom Stanton in one verse. For years of listening 2 this song, I swear I always here him sneak in Tom's name.

MJ says "Tom Sneddon" throughout the entire song. He starts off very cryptic at first pronouncing it through electronic-like warbles, but then after the lyrical bridge Michael basically just says his full name flat out, like f**k it: "THOMAS SNEDDON IS A COLD MAN!"

I love this record! You can just feel the anger and rage in MJ's voice. He's at his best when he does bitter, raging funk like this, IMO. I dig how he ends the song with a lone gun shot -- he just kills the dude in this song. This song rings true to this day. One of my favorite MJ tracks.

It's an angry song, but I wouldn't call it funk. It's one of the most bland uninspired tracks on History that I constantly want to skip.

You may not like the song, but it's definitely not "uninspired"!

I can definitely attest to that, in light of recent events.

musically uninspired (or uninspiring?), I should have said. At least to me.

Best cuts off that album: Stranger In Moscow, They Don't Care About Us, Childhood, History, Little Suzie. Come Together isn't half bad either, considering it's a cover.

Yeah, that´s definitely what it sounds like to me too. So what I´m wondering is why Sneddon hasn´t sued him to pieces (especially being a prosecutor!)?

i never really got in2 the song despite the fact that it is about the guy. Im glad he put out that song though. I think HIStory is under-rated. Maybe his less commercial joint, but i liked the album although it still doesnt even live up 2 "Invincible"

fav MJ albums in order:

Dangerous
Thriller
Bad
Invincible
Off The Wall
HIStory
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
