But the media does need to get cussed out on this one. I am so sick of turning on the news and seeing a celebrity issue as the lead story. It only feeds the fugged up priorities that we have.

There is so much more important shit going on in the world that is impacting our everyday life for there to be 24 hour coverage of this is ridiculous.

this is exactly why i hate the freakin' media... they base their priorities on money...

yes, piece of shit bush relaunching in overseas is a much more important story with a hell of a lot more impact on the world... yes, that should be the headline story that we're seeing all over the place... but it's not as commercial...

there are gonna be more people who are indifferent on that story, than they are going to be people who are indifferent on the michael jackson story...

and so the decision is made... run the michael jackson story down everyone's throat... ignore the important shit...

fuck tha media... in the ass... no vaseline... sandpaper condom...

i hate those sons of bitches...

I gotta say, having seen this coverage all day, I'm sick and tired of it. Could George Bush have wished for a better news story to distract people from the fact that he relaunched the war in Iraq?

Anyway, back to Jermaine he went off on that news anchor and was like "That's all I have to say" and hung up LOL.

jermaine is my man

what up gangsta?!

although i'm not an mj fan,

i do think the media is trying

If he is he has kept it on the real down low. But I do know he has maintained very close ties to prominent Muslim leaders so it is possible.

Jermaine is going off on reporters about them not knowing the facts, or knowing Michael, or what have you... but hey, just a thought: how well does Jermaine know Michael these days? Are they close? Has he seen or talked to him in 10 years? Has anyone in the family talked to Michael in 10 years?

They were discussing this this morning on the radio. They said that if Mike had been Joe Blow, his ass couldn't get tossed in jail quick enough.

He is, I'm sorry 4 asking but I wanted to check anyway. I really don't understand why does he keep this in in the low. Check this interview, its from a trusted/famous Arabic political magazine called "Al-Majalla":

Like I said, all of Jermaine's statements should be taken in the context of a predictible family defense response. But that being said, his criticism of the media is well-deserved. They are scraping the bottom of the barrell to find someone with something to say--Uri Geller, Rabbi Boteach, Latoya's ex-husband, etc. They need to be taken to task for that shady ass bullshit.

shady edit.

Jermaine Jackson, the pop star's brother, told CNN on Thursday that the charges amounted to "a modern-day lynching" and that the family supported him. (as qtd. in NY Times, 11/21/03.)

Yeah, it's 9 pm Eastern Standard Time, which is Greenwich Mean Time -5 hours... so that would be 2 am UK time (if you're in GMT zone).

MTV: Jackson family concerned not just for Michael

In the wake of Michael Jackson's surrender and arrest, his family members are just as outraged as he is about the molestation charges.

Their concern, a family friend said, extends not just to the superstar, but also to the littlest ones within their extensive clan, whom they say are sometimes misrepresented as supposed "evidence" to show that the singer has an unhealthy interest in young children. Granted, Jackson does invite children other than his own to visit Neverland, but much of the time, the children shown at the singer's side are actually family.

"[Michael] has 27 nieces and nephews," said family friend Stacy Brown, who has often acted as a liaison between the Jackson family and the media. "And a lot of times, what people don't understand and are never told is that a lot of those kids [seen photographed and videotaped with him] are his nieces and nephews. They go to the ranch, they go to Neverland quite often, and are with their uncle often and love him. And he loves them."

But he can't protect them from the vast amount of media coverage of this latest scandal. Since many of them are grade-school age — and attend public school — they can't easily be shielded from the reports.

"It's horrible," Brown said. "They have to hear, they have to be teased and hear lewd comments about a close family member. And even some of this, they hear it from the teachers. It's not right."

Brown said the family's concern — besides supporting Jackson — is how to explain the whole drama to the kids. He said one nephew in particular, who is "very very distraught," keeps asking him, "Why are they doing this to him?"

Echoing similar comments that Michael's brother Jermaine said to CNN earlier Thursday (November 20), Brown said, "This is what the media wanted to see, this is what [Santa Barbara District Attorney] Tom Sneddon wanted to see, this is what the authorities wanted to see — Michael Jackson in handcuffs. They got what they wanted" (see "Michael Jackson Surrenders To Santa Barbara Police").

What the family wants to see is quite the opposite. The Jackson family, Brown said, believes that the singer is the victim in these allegations, which is why several members of the family joined Michael in Las Vegas shortly before his surrender in Santa Barbara — including Jermaine, their mother, their father, and notably, LaToya Jackson, who had been the lone holdout of the family in standing by her brother during the 1993 child-molestation allegations.

"[LaToya] was led to do and say things that she certainly did not feel were true, but she was forced to do those things because of her ex-husband," Brown said, referring to her ex-manager Jack Gordon, whom she divorced in 1997 amid allegations that he physically abused her. LaToya had made statements that she would "not be a silent collaborator of [Michael's] crimes against small, innocent children," which she later recanted. "What I was told and I know it's true is that LaToya was there with Michael and her family in Las Vegas these last few days, supporting her brother," Brown said.

The Jackson family intends to hold a press conference soon, to more visibly support Michael, with details to be announced.

For full coverage of the Michael Jackson case, see "Michael Jackson Accused."

sad People just don't realise. I even had to point that out to my mum a few years back while she was watching some news on MJ. "look he's got another boy in tow!"

"no mum that's actually one of his nephews..." rolleyes

and THIS IS how "ADULTS" act

I totally know and see this happening

"adults" are always riding the gossip wagon and don't mind being mean even to children if they think they got their peers behind them

"ADULTS" are sick

I know I was in school Im gay and I got called out on a couple occasions by my teacher (s) in front of the entire class room about laughing like a little girl
well this just reinforced this way of acting twards me by my peers

when I was in second grade my teach who was an apostalic and we had to pray every day came in and asked us kids if we could keep a secret...WOW! And she told us that (one of my friends) peed his pants...hehaw...this boy had so many medical problems that him surviving to that day was a miracle, he had problems with that because of his medical conditions, lucky for him to be alive if his adoptive parents didn't get him, he would be dead cause his real parents gave him up for DEATH because they couldn't afford to care for him...what a sick twisted bitch teacher eh?

sick ass adults ALWAY fuel the fire more than a child could EVER comprehend to do so

Who do you believe?
Michael says he never had a childhood
while
Jermaine says they had an incredible wonderful childhood.
Whos right?

Keep in mind Jermaine is one of the older children who had more of a childhood than the younger ones. Michael is #7 out of 9 and Jermaine is number 2 or 3
