Well in the 80's their was MIAMI SOUND MACHINE, well about 3 years ago, EMILIO ESTEFAN decided it was time for a new version of that group, he kept all the HORNS and INSTRUMENTS bu decided he wanted a GIRL GROUP to front the band. Well he found 3 girls mostly from Miami but born in other latin american countries. They originally were signed to SONY and were going to have an all english CD but that was reconsidered because the GIRLS were LATIN and why sing in english, especially when the original MIAMI SOUND MACHINE didnt record in english until 1983, ten years after they started. So SONY still wanted an english CD for the POP market but EMILIO conceded and gave them a half english and half spanish CD, the CD was only released as an import but was a top 10 in spain and featured 2 top 10 singles in SPAIN. Well the GIRLS toured in latin american and the CD sold about 300,000 copies worldwide (maybe more). But now a year after that first CD they are back with another CD this time ALL LATIN and once again to be released only as an import and it already has a top 10 hit in spain. Emilio is still fighting with SONY to get the girls a domestic distribution for the USA but SONY is refusing because they want these 3 LATIN GIRLS to sing in ENGLISH.

Well as usual corporate wins but hey theres always imports.

Why don't they GET A NEW LABEL if Sony is fucking them around? Did they sell their souls already? BTW, that photo is enough to make me dump them in the bimbo girl group category, but I'll see if I can find something online I can listen to.

Most of the Industry has sold their souls already anyway, if U are on a Label you are pretty much PROPERTY of someone else, lets be real here. My point about SONY was they wont put the record out here because they feel the only way they can market a Latin Group is to have them sing in ENGLISH that's what I meant by pathetic, that the US market and Radio is programmed and PAID for that no one takes a chance anymore. And as for the BIMBO girl group deal, well my point is that they are obviously a visual group, but they have the LIVE band behind them and they SING too. They aren't major talents in the world of MUSIC, they are just something to party and have fun too, but with LIVE music. Im sick and tired of these programmed GIRL GROUPS that pollute the RB and POP world, get some new producers, start playing instruments again, the days of PRODUCERS needs to end, at least the sample, computer happy ones do.
