I Have A Confession 2 Make About Diana Ross

I was listening 2 her music exclusively 2day I NEVA and still don't think the woman could sing to save her kids lives let alone herself sad

I really don't see why is she a legend? What did she contribute besides her polished plastic music? I'll neva understand!

WHEW!,,,there I've said it!

I´ve been thinking about the same thing, especially
when listening 2 the duet album from '73 with
Marvin Gaye.Still she´s done lot´s of hitsongs from
the Supreme stuff 2 the Nile Rodger-produced
hits and she´s a genuine soul-diva in her way.
1 great memory I have is when seeing her 1989
she picked up my brother on stage 2 dance a slow
jam with him while singing, leaning 2 his shoulder
& he got this big greasy spot on his shirt from
her make-up.

I think Diana Ross has a beautiful voice. She's not a "belter" like Aretha or Patti, but she holds her own.She utilizes a sweet, gentle, sexy vocal delivery.Listen to a song like "Missing You"(1984),one of her most effective songs ever.

She's an amazing diva.Currently, she's working on a book and a new duets album for Clive Davis' record label.Despite a little recent drama,I know she will make a big comeback soon.

avid she's got apretty vocie. its still good. now is she the greatest of all time,no.
i know this her ego is GIGANTIC.

its funny i like her best in the supremes.

upside down and love hangover were nice cuts.

harley...i dig what you're saying about her. i think she's an acquired taste.
if you put her up against stronger vocied ones like
ree or patti...or gladys she doesn't come off too good.
but she's alright.

I can admit Diana wasn't the best singer. But for some reason I'd rather listen to her music than Mary J Blige barf But I still loves you Harlepolis. biggrin

I love Diana Ross' music -- especially her gems from the 60s to the early 80s.

Matter fact, I'm gonna download some of her music now. Thanks for this thread! smile

A few Diana albums I would recommend...

***'Diana'(1980---recently remastered into a Deluxe Edition 2-CD set

***'The Boss'(1979)---remastered a few years ago with a few bonus tracks

***'Why Do Fools Fall In Love'(1981)---one could easily make the argument that Diana recorded her best work in the 80s.This album,as well as 'Diana'(1980) and 'Swept Away'(1984) rank among her best albums.

***'Swept Away'(1984)---worth it for "Missing You" and "Telephone".

I could never stand Patti or Aretha's voices, so I'd have to agree.
