You know what my 16 year old said to me ? He said that today's hip-hop sucks, he is tired of rappers using samples and he is ol' skool for life. My work is done here. Time to work on my 8 year old.

What school does your child attend, because my younger siblings could use one of those lessons. Imperially Yours,

I mainly play R&B in the house and even though I try to keep my kids away from gangsta rap and garbage, I know they hear it away from home, but they are great kids and they know it's garbage too.

Thank GOD! hehe good job and congrats. Reminds me of how I was in high school...errr.. a few years ago! hehe I was so tired or "looped" crap. OK, I'll stop there before I start. :+) But my dad and I own a DJ business which helped too because I grew up on all types of music... look at my profile to get a partial idea of what I'm into. hehe

Such insight & wisdom at only 16! He sounds like a true genius! He's defintiely ready for the world! No holds barred on the younger sibling. He'll do great in public school! test

Wow! A beaken of light in these dark times of music but not all sample heavy hip hop is bad. For example, Missy.

I was just like your kid when I was 16 too, Stymie. That's why New Wave/Punk/Alternative Rock was the soundtrack to my "wonder years". And it still is, even today. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Good Job!
Mainstream Hip Hop deals too much in negative subject matter and paints a false picture of bling-bling that is simply not attainable to 99% of it's audience. It's fast become a sad parody of itself. I don't know what the hell happened, rap used to be great, it's boring as hell now.

I love evey single one of Outkast' albums. Talib Kweli, Common, etc., bright sparks in an otherwise dark tunnel. Maybe I'll burn him some compilations from past and present of true hip-hop artists. Do you have any suggestions?Big up Outkast and Jayz...
