I know a few people on this board will be more than slightly interested in this latest POSSIBLE (not absolute) development in Madonna/Britney Land.

According to a few insiders, Madonna is waiting for Britney's contract to expire so she can sign her to Maverick. You may know Madonna has been at odds with Warner Bros. She will, more than likely, be leaving Warner's soon and taking Maverick with her (this is the reason for the cancelling of the boxed set). Britney and Madonna have discussed this possible venture. Much depends on the success of Britney's next album which is due in stores on November 18th.

I will try to keep you informed if I hear anything new.

Ahhh, the staged sexual tension between Britney and Madonna is great for both their sales. Madonna released a pathetic, preachy album and so her popularity is dwindling, so to prove that she's still horny like back in the day, she's all smoochy with Britney. And, it gives Britney "diva status" to be work with, as well as pash with, the Grandma of Pop herself.

WOW! I expected at least a few people to be excited about this possibility. Perhaps Madonna should survey the market before drafting any contracts. I, for one, was very excited when I heard about this.

Can Madonna really afford a Britney Spears. That name carries a lot of clout even if it doesn't sell albums anymore (we'll have to see what happens). Something tells me she is going to get offered one of the biggest contracts out there. As for Madonna, he needs to worry about her damn self now and show Warners what they are missing by making..dare I say a comeback album (she didn't go away but the hits certaintly did with AL).

If she loves the entertainment industry (which she obviously does) I see nothing wrong with her remaining involved in it. And Britney's career will last much longer with Esther involved in the machine.

At the moment, Britney is in a precarious situation as far as her career is concerned. She has outgrown her kiddie audience and not yet gained the respect of a more adult audience. Madonna is the perfect person to help her out with this transition. Madonna, herself, was in a similar situation around the time of Evita. Nobody saw her as an actress and many had a hard time seeing past her sexual escapades. She turned things around and created a new image. Britney will do the same thing. This is a brilliant career move for the both of them (if, of course, it is really being considered).

If you ask me,Madonna needs to steer clear of Britney Spears and concentrate on her own next major project.Yes,"the kiss" was cool and I even like the new song/video they did together,but that's where the collaboration should end.
