You're right, the speakerboxxx album is probably more Clinton than Prince, but what about "The Love Below". That disc has Prince written all over it.

Hey ya is very much on the radio over in the Netherlands and it reminds me more of Frank Zappa with a slight more commercial flavor.

I think it sounds really New Wave. But The Love Below definitely has a Prince vibe. I havne't listened to the Speakerboxxx CD yet. By the way, Henk, who is that girl in your avatar? She's gorgeous!

Zappa? In no ways! Really, if this reminds you of Zappa, then...then...then... Then what? The singing and the little weird things in the melody remind me of old Zappa (Freak Out era). I discussed it with other people and they don't hear it either. Maybe it's just my association.

OutKast is like the Parliament-Funkadelic of the millennium!

It has both influences to me. Anybody growing up in the era of P-Funk will say George Clinton, those growing up on Prince will say him.
They dig both P-Funk and Prince and you can even hear Hendrix in guitar parts...a melting pot. P.S. I'll tell you something quite funny played a friend Bootsy's greatest hits and he said...Hey that guy sounds just like Prince. I started laughing! "OutKast is like the Parliament-Funkadelic of the millennium! "---their image is very much in that vein.

love below is very much George Clinton on it. Only Prince reference really is "She Lives In My Lap" "pink & Blue" and maybe "She's Alive"
Did u hear "Stanklove" off of Stankonia? That was very very George Clinton..early 70's. Same vein as "Vibrate" i will never dance
