2Pac Amaru Shakur!!! not bullshyt, but brilliant!

I had the opportunity to see the movie last night at a private screening and its a very good documentary of 2Pac...and his life!

He was basically forced into what life he led...he had the choice to be an artist or be candy pop!
2pac wrote and Entertained us about a fantasy world of Thug Life, before he actually lived it!

2Pac grew up in poverty and had alot of influence from the streets, but he also was a very intelligent and needy person...this led him to writing lyrics about everything that he hadn't experienced and what others were crying about!
He took from what stories he'd hear from Gangstas, Pimps, Crackheads and Drug dealers...or just ppl who had run ins with the police over and over again!

2pac never had a police record until he released a record!
He basically was swallowed into that whole image of thug life and not actually knowing the truth about it!

After seeing this film, I respect 2pac even more and know that all things happen for a reason...2pac wasn't perfect, but he was indeed a very beautiful person who knew how to sell his music off of image.

He knew that eventually all of this would catch up to him.
He was brilliant, he had a plan and it worked, so here we are 7 years after his death and the man is still a prominate figure in our lives more than ever, whether we HATE or LOVE HIM!

2Pac lives on inside us all!
If we actually think about it, here is a man, who was a journalist for the streets, twisted and tailored it to his own with out knowing that...people would actually began to think that it was truth of his own everyday life and something he could relate too when he only had experienced a fraction of police brutality and discrimination...he became a spokesperson for it...and people started to believe it was he that was influencing a generation when he was only bringing it to mainstream, when in fact it wasn't the first time an artist or rap star had spoken of it, but had more merit once 2 Pac said it!

What I hope people understand is that 2Pac created his own path and made his own bed hard, so therefore he was forced to lay in it!
He wasn't the hard gangsta or the heartless thug criminal monster that the media made him out to be.

2Pac was actually scared of how big he had become, but maintained that hard image for publicity and record sells.

He said " I was an artist, I didn't have to tell the truth, I could create my own image through the music, because I am an artist and thats what we do, none of this is for real" -2PAC!

Just as Madonna once said...just because I sell Sex, doesn't mean that I sleep with dozens of people or live that life that I project, its all in marketing and promoting yourself to make a dollar, to make a living.

So Folx, before you judge the man, please listen to his story first!!!
2Pac was indeed a beautiful and strong black man who had alot of valid points...and you'll see that once you get pass all the media hype and negative publicity!

2Pac wasn't a rapist, he wasn't a thug, he wasn't a gangsta...he was just as any other human being on this earth who had a heart and a life!

The Movie gets 5 stars!

Puh-lease! Tupac was a convicted rapist who also shot at two off-duty cops and accidentally killed a boy. He also beat up film directors the Hughes Brothers because they didn't give him a part in "Menace II Society". That makes him an out and out thug.

He might not have been a gangsta, but he was a wannabe.

But you're right about one thing - he was a human being. That cannot be denied.

Fuck Pac. Rest in pieces. Yeah I said it! I get sick of folks glorifying this fool. He WASN'T a "gangsta", he was a back up dancer for Digital underground turned-rapper-turned-actor-turned-felon. He DID make his own bed and now he IS laying in it. It annoys me to no end that so many folks embrace Pac (entertainer-turned-thug) and Christopher "Biggie Smalls" (drug dealer-turned-rapper) just because they caught a few slugs. What the hell did they THINK was gonna happen? You can't do all that dirt and NOT expect it to catch up. Fuck 'em both. Yeah, they were both good rappers, but the media has hyped them into legend status when in fact if they were still living, they'd probably be doing so "hit-to-hit" just like every other artist who has attained momentary chart status. 50 Cent is NEXT. The only TRUE great death in the rap world (that I can think of at the moment) was Jammaster Jay. Nuff said.

I get the point NPD313. Regardless of what folks felt about Pac's "Thug Life", because he died so young, we will never see what he could have become.

ya'll are confused.

Tupac was a great poet. Ya'll are lost in his actions but his art was on point.

Killing us one by one
In one way or another
American will find a way to eliminate the problem
One by one
The problem is
the troubles in the black youth of the ghettos
And one by one
we are being wiped off the face of this earth
At an extremly alarming rate
And even more alarming is the fact
that we are not fighting back
Brothers, sistas, niggas
When I say niggas it is not the nigga we are grown to fear
It is not the nigga we say as if it has no meaning
But to me
It means Never Ignorant Getting Goals Acomplishes, nigga
Niggas what are we going to do
Walk blind into a line or fight
Fight and die if we must like niggas

This is for the masses the lower classes
The ones you left out, jobs were givin', better livin'
But we were kept out
Made to feel inferior, but we're the superior
Break the chains in out brains that made us fear yah
Pledge a legiance to a flag that neglects us
Honour a man that who refuses to respect us
Emmancipation, proclamation, Please!
Nigga just said that to save the nation
These are lies that we all accepted
Say no to drugs but the governments' keep it
Running through our community, killing the unity
The war on drugs is a war on you and me
And yet they say this is the Home of The Free
But if you ask me its all about hyprocracy
The constitution, Yo, it don't apply to me
Lady Liberty still the bitch lied to me
Steady strong nobody's gonna like what I pumpin'
But its wrong to keeping someone from learning something
So get up, its time to start nation building
I'm fed up, we gotta start teaching childern
That they can be all that they wanna to be
There's much more to life than just poverty

This is defaintly ahhh words of wisdom
AMERIKA, AMERIKA, AMERIKKKA
I charge you with the crime of rape, murder, and assault
For suppressing and punishing my people
I charge you with robery for robbing me of my history
I charge you with false imprisonment for keeping me
Trapped in the projects
And the jury finds you guilty on all accounts
And you are to serve the consequences of your evil schemes
Prosecutor do you have any more evidience

Words of Wisdom
They shine upon the strength of an nation
Conquer the enemy on with education
Protect thy self, reach with what you wanna do
Know thy self, teach what we been through
On with the knowledge of the place, then
No one will ever oppress this race again
No Malcolm X in my history text
Why is that?
Cause he tried to educate and liberate all blacks
Why is Martin Luther King in my book each week?
He told blacks, if they get smacked, turn the other cheek
I don't get it, so many questions went through my mind
I get sweated, They act as if asking questions is a crime
But forget it, one day I'm gonna prove them wrong
Now every brother had to smother on the welfare line
The american dream, though it seems it attainable
They're pulling your sleave, don't believe
Cause it will strangle yah
Pulling the life of your brain, I can't explain
Beg as you can obtain from which you came
Swear that your mother is living in equality
Forgeting your brother that's living her apology
Thought they had us beat when they took our kids
But the battle ain't over till the black man sings
Words of Wisdom
But the battle ain't over till the black man sings
Words of Wisdom

NIGHTMARE thats what I am
America's nightmare
I am what you made me
The hate and evil that you gave me
I shine of a reminder of what you have done to my people
for Four hundred plus years
You should be scared
You should be running
You should be trying to silence me
ha ha
But you can not escape fate
Well it is my turn to come
Just as you rose you shall fall
By my hands

Dayumn!!

I usually enjoy reading your opinion but this time I think your kinda flyin off the handle. I was gonna start a thread a while back asking " does anybody not like Pac" but this says it all!!! In a sense I can kind of see where you are coming from but as far as the media hype'n these boys I think your wrong. Some peeps need to quit watching/following/believing the media and see for themselves if these men were worthy and/or legends. I really think Pac knew that he had numbers on his head and wrote his lyrics around just that. What would you do if you were him, write about carnivals, parades or fairytales? As for Biggie and many other rappers I'd say he wasn't the only one that used to deal drugs there are many but since when is it right to hold things against peoples wrong doings? I used to deal for 11 years not having a direction in life and it took getting busted, doin time, and restarting my life for me to appreciate it! I would never try to change your mind for nuttin BK, you critisize in a very interesting manner and I really dig your writing style but oh god when I see ya come all aggresive at Pac or B.I.G. would or could you have handled yourself better if you were in any of their shoes? As for Jam Master Jay, don't be so sure he was innocently killed... maybe he once sold drugs and shit came back to hime too... unless of course he's an angel
