I want 2 put 2gether a complilation CD of the best songs from the 80's. I know we got some real old school heads, with good music taste who can help me out with this. I feel like pulling up some of those old school jam of the day threads, but I'm 2 lazy 2 do it lol, but if you where 2 put 2gether the best of the best dance songs of the 80's, which jams would u dig up?

So far I got

1. Candy Man (extened version) Mary Jane Girls
2. Everybody (extended version) Madonna
3. You're the one 4 me (extended version) One Way
4. Cold bloded (extended version) Rick James
5. Let the music play Shannon
6. Take you home (extended version) Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam

And this is all I can think of 4 now. I'm so stuck hrmph
Would y'all be kind of enuff 2 help a sista out ?

The first song that came to mind was You're The One For Me. That song kicks ass. I also dig Glad To Know You by Chas Jankel. Gee, there are so many, I gotta get back to you.

Here are just a few off the top of my head. 80s dance music is the best.

Samantha Fox-Love House (but just about anything she did)
Cheri-Murphy's Law
Technotronic-Get Up (Before the Night Is Over)
Information Society-What's on Your Mind
Pet Shop Boys-It's Alright (or anything else)
Jody Wately-Don't You Want Me (or anything else)
Human League-Don't You Want Me

This is kind of hard since most of the good ones have been taken.

That's part of its appeal! But you have to admit it's really funky.

That's too large a well to drink from. I mean there were so many great dance songs of the 80's. Only these can come into mind:

Blue Monday - New Order

Planet Rock - Afrika Bambatta ("gotta rock it, don't stop it, gotta rock it, don't stop..." dancing jig)

Genius of Love - Tom Tom Club

Cavern - Liquid Liquid (which Bambatta used to create "White Lines" as you may or may not know.)

Let The Music Play - Shannon

These are guaranteed to get the old-school party going.
NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
