What's Mercury Rev up to? love love love this band, but the fan presence on the web seems to be miniscule... even more miniscule than it was about a year ago. and their official site hasn't been updated in ... forever.
anyone know what's up with them?

You know, I keep hearing about this band but I still haven't heard a note of their music. Could you describe their music for me?? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

rock/orchestral/alternative/psychedelic/dreamy/melancholy/experimental
kind of hard to describe. they get a lot of comparisons to the Flaming Lips (as the lead singer used to be a member of that band), but of the FL stuff i've heard, i'm not sure if the comparison is accurate. though whenever my boyfriend hears that Flaming Lips song that they do a VH1 video-montage to, he thinks of the Rev. their last 2 are the ones you want to pick up. Have u heard Sigur Ros yet? I got in2 them about 3 or 4 years ago - my fave band. They play the most beautiful music u could ever wish 2 hear... CHECK 'EM OUT: www.sigur-ros.co.uk/media/index.html (and the lead singer is cute, Gay and gorgeous - so that helps!)

I can see some similarities between Sigur Ros and Mercury Rev. Mostly in the vocal styles.

I have all their releases. Seen them Live 3 times. See You On The Other Side tour, Deserter Songs tour, and All is Dream tour. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.
