When you asked what it sounded like I was in the middle of saying "it sounds like something Cheryl Lynn did and I went to Amazon.com and bang, sho nuff, it was her. Awesome!! That is "Star Love" by Cheryl Lynn. I think it was her second (and prehaps only other) hit. She was the "Got To Be Real" singer and did a deut with Luther on a song called "If This World Were Mine" which appears on many of his hits collections.
