Whats funny is everytime i watch one of these ...theres more american artists than european artists...so its like "what was the point!?" and the hosts are usually bad choices.

Exactly, it was a real awkward moment, the audience was 'quiet', didn't know what to do. They say that the awards are chosen by the MTV-audience, but I do not believe that Sigur Ros was chosen by the public!

Also, whenever the nominations were named, you knew that the 'artist' that is present, will win!

Then I was lucky. Normally I detest award shows, and I didn't want to watch this one neither. I was watching Ace Ventura II (with Jim Carry) and during the commercial breaks I happened to switch to MTV, where the White Stripes just made their appearance.
