MJ Haterz... (Warning) Don't Click On This Thread! Michael is back... with a vengeance!!! Read on...
Jackson Eyes Sweeps Special Tue Nov 4, 5:15 PM ET Add Entertainment - E! Online to My Yahoo! By Josh Grossberg Is Michael Jackson ready to beat it onstage again? For those who couldn't get enough off-the-wall coverage of the entertainer during last February's sweeps, get ready for yet another Jacko-themed special. According to Daily Variety, the Gloved One may headline a musical special that would air on CBS November 26, the day before Thanksgiving. Details of the deal are being kept under wraps, but according to insiders privy to negotiations, Jackson is under a "contractual obligation to CBS to do a performance." The date of the concert would not so coincidentally come just in time to hype the release of his latest album, a collection of hits called Number Ones, due from Epic Records on November 18. Reps for CBS and Epic declined to comment. The last time the 45-year-old Jackson moonwalked for the folks at home was during his 2001 concert tribute to himself, which celebrated his 30 years as a solo artist and featured a reunion with the Jackson 5. That broadcast pulled in more than 25 million viewers. At this point, the reclusive King of Pop could use a good TV special to help offset the disaster that was Invincible, which cost $40 million to market and produce and fell off the charts within weeks. Seeing Jackson doing what he does best--performing--might also counter all the negative publicity he received after the baby dangling incident, journo Martin Bashir's Living with Michael Jackson doc and the slew of competing specials last winter on ABC, NBC and Fox that explored everything from his baby-making and face-changing to his marriages and divorces to his extravagant shopping sprees and his eccentric behavior with kids. It was also be a respite from his myriad legal problems. In recent months he lost a $5.3 million judgment over canceled millennium concerts and reached two out-of-court settlements: one with Sotheby's for non-payment of two paintings and another with a former financial advisor who claimed the music legend owed $12 million and was on the brink of bankruptcy. He is currently suing Motown over royalties and is being sued for copyright infringement over Jackson 5 song credits. Despite such troubles, the sovereign of Neverland hasn't gone quietly. This week, Jackson finally released the long-shelved 9/11 charity anthem What More Can I Give?, which corralled such A-listers as Mariah Carey, Beyoncé Knowles, Justin Timberlake and Celine Dion. The single, which the singer wrote, can be downloaded at www.musicforgiving.com. Money raised will benefit various children's charities. Jackson also announced Tuesday that he is putting up for auction a custom 2001 Bentley used to shuttle entertainers to his Neverland Ranch. The car, featured in the making of the "What More Can I Give?" video was signed by all the participants. It will be sold to the highest bidder as part of a classic car auction set for January 25. Jackson's next single will be the R. Kelly-penned "One More Chance," one of the two new tracks on Number Ones. The single drops next week. --- It's gonna be a fun November! |

He is finished when sales and/or ratings are down. Right now, without a lot of promotion he gets 25.000.000 audience for a concert special and 8.000.000 for an album which wasn't promoted very well.
Don't tell me he is finished. BlueNote

Let's end the fighter scene here, we are lovers and you know that. BlueNote [This message was edited Wed Nov 5 11:23:57 PST 2003 by BlueNote]
