Pull-An-Artist-Out-Ya-Hat Thread: Chantay Savage 
Anyone remember this R&B singer? She did a mid-90s remake of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." She was one of those backwoods BET singers relegated to Video Vibrations and Midnight Love, who could never get that lucrative MTV crossover. She reminds me a lot of Tanya Blount (the singer alongside Lauryn in Sister Act 2) | |

Yeah, I remember Chantay! She was big in Chicago (which is where I was living when she hit the scene in the mid 90's). I actually prefer the material on the album she released prior to the one pictured here. She lost a considerable amount of momentum when she was transformed from a Dance artist into an R&B/Pop artist.
Chantay's first project was done with a lot of the Chicago producers who worked with CeCe Peniston on her first two albums. Chantay even co-wrote one or two of CeCe's early hits. | |
