"Ghosts" is great. The music is tight, the concept is corny, but cool corny. Its what you expect from Michael Jackson. The effects were top notch and the choreography is is magnificient. It was done with a "fun" spirit. David Eye, we usually agree, but calling "Thriller" cheap is like calling Bill Gates "poor". At the time. it was unparalleled. It may seem cheap NOW - a zillion years later, but THEN it ruled.

I really don't know. After Dangerous it went down, in my opinion. Though HIStory had its moments i didn't like much after Dangerous. But lets get to 'Ghosts'.

I think the music is mediocre. What bothers me is the fact that almost every song is cut into too much peaces. I love '2Bad' but don't think it fits, I like 'Ghosts' and 'Is it scary' but it is not that great. Choreography was good. Everytime I see his skeleton dancing it reminds me of Robbie Williams and his 'Rock DJ'. What a crook lol

cinematography is amazing, but it has too much resemblance with 'Thriller' to be a real masterpiece, but it proves how talented MJ is when it comes to short films. but i still think, that it is more a disney like short film, 'Thriller' isn't.

Except for his morphing into the Werwolve, why does Thriller look cheap nowadays? I don't think so. I mean there are no real "special effects", except for said sequence. It's a great little movie.

I didn't want to quote what AaronUniversal wrote because I didn't really want to bring too much attention to it. I probably should take my own advice & not reply but...

At least Tron put a question mark in his original post allowing for a comeback, AU simply tells us that to like what he doesn't like means we are lesser than he/she.

Just because you like something that an artist has done, does not mean that you have been brainwashed into that opinion, it may just be that you like it.

I did like hearing John Landis recently comment on Thriller being a basic performance piece. The dancing is just there and the camera is in one place. There are no fancy cuts, computer effects or swooping shots. We're just watching the dance. More than can be said for some so called dancers these days.

OH no no, babe. Ghosts is hot. I love the dance sequence when he's hunched over like a quarterback coming at the innocent people trapped in the mansion. Me and my friend imitate that all the time!!! I LOVE IT!

Yeah, you are right, the "Thriller" video was unparalled at the time.I remember rushing home from school in '83 just to catch it on MTV.But for some reason, when I watch it now,it just looks kinda silly...lol...but maybe that's because the "Ghosts" video looks so much more amazing? It looks like he took the old concept, fleshed it out a little more, spent more money and made it even more fantastic and over-the-top.

btw,I know "Thriller" cost at least a million to make, but I wonder how much "Ghosts" cost?

Isn't it just about the lamest piece of shit he ever put out?

I can see why it wasn't released to the video channels back in '97. But why now? rolleyes

This has been one of the few things I've actually liked by the guy in awhile. I think everything since Dangerous has been terrible EXCEPT Ghosts and Butterflies. It IS a Thriller-copy but if you're gonna copy cff yourself, its best to do it from ur best work.

It's okay. Very considerate of you in fact.

I know MJ's work usually has an element of over-the-top to it. But usually I like that. In the case of "Ghosts" I just find that it falls flat. I was just disappointed when I saw it and feel that he's capable of better. Not so much a slag on him, cuz I love him. More just a criticism of that particular work.

Hi Tron

No worries, I am sorry for my post, I was in a bad mood & I took it out on you, I don't usually do that. Hope you are well!

All The Best
