rate your favourite Sting albums!

leaving out the Best Of's and the live albums, in order:

...Nothing Like The Sun
Mercury Falling
The Soul Cages
Sacred Love
Ten Summoners Tales
The Dream Of The Blue Turtles

wow..he's only had six solo albums. that's pretty small compared to how long he's been a solo artist.

Anxiety

Don't forget Bring On The Night and Nada Como El Sol...and wasn't there a live album for his last tour?

I liked his first two studio albums, and I thought Bring On The Night was pretty smooth. After that, I don't have much use for the guy.

Upon revisiting Brand New Day recently, that's really a hell of an album. I kinda dissed it when it first came out, but it has really grown on me like a fungus. Just the sheer variety of styles on that album and quality of songwriting is exceptional. And I've always found the title track to be very powerful. I have to say I much prefer it to the new one- but neither touch the greatness of Mercury Falling or Dream of the Blue Turtles.

that bland, pseudo-depressing, going-through-the-(e)motions one from the 90's or later...

Nightcrawler

1. The Soul Cages
2. Nothing like the sun
3. Ten Summoners Tales
4. Dream Of The Blue Turtles
5. Bring On The Night
6.-99.999: nothing
10.000 Sacred Love
10.001-19.999 nothing
20.000: Brand New Day

I just hate the last two ones. Perfect production, lame songs.

well i didn't like Brand New Day too much. i even pulled it out last night i still am not into it. now Sacred Love is great i think. yes it's related to Brand New Day but the songs are in my opinion far superior. i think on BND he was just going thru the motions and all that new millenium stuff. on SL, he has something to write about. in this case, the war, the world situation, etc.
i love it.
still tho, nothing beats ..Nothing Like The Sun and Mercury Falling.
