remember the century is only 3 years old...

Well, it's only about 4 years into it. I think it's a bit early to say.
So far, I'd pick "Vespertine" by Bjork as the album of the 21st century.

I'd have to say Andre 3000- The Love Below
Vespertine is pretty close, though.

hahahahhah. come on now... it was good but nowhere near that great. to start with, its far too derivative (though in a good way).

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless IS the best album to come out in the last 25 years easily. Close second would be Bark Psychosis - Hex. Listen to them, and just try to argue the fact. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

Vespertine is pretty close, though. Both great albums as is TRC but my vote goes to Revelling/Reckoning-- Ani Difranco. It's a double album at that.

The Strokes sound way too much like the Velvet Underground or some other garage band from the 70's. The best track on the album ("New York City Cops") didn't even get released over here. They were popular because it was hip to like them, but I don't see them having much of a chance the second time around. I have to say I DO like that they don't preach onstage like U2 or someone like that. They just come out, play everything they can play, and leave.

Good album but NOT the album of the century 'so far'...
If I had to choose these would be considered... COLDPLAY-Parachutes (2000-well '99 really but '00 out in US) COLDPLAY-Rush Of Blood to The Head (2002) PJ HARVEY-Stories from The City, Stories from the Sea (2000) LUCINDA WILLIAMS-World Without Tears (2003) RADIOHEAD-Kid A (2000) EMMYLOU HARRIS-Red Dirt Girl (2000) JOHNNY CASH-The Man Comes Around (2003) WHITE STRIPES-Elephant (2003) Every minute of last night is on my face today....

That's not true! They're derivative and hyped! Now, The Darkness' Permission To Land, that IS the greatest album ever by anyone!
