Okay, admit it....how many of you liked The Jets?

"Crush On You" by The Jets (1985)

Chorus
How did you know
Cause I never told
You found out...I got a crush on you
No more charades
My heart's been displayed
You found out...I got a crush on you

You must have heard it from my best friend
She's always talkin' when she should be listenin'
Can't keep a secret to save her life
But still I trusted her with all I felt inside
I never knew a rumor could spread so fast
Cause now the word is out all over town
That I'm longin' for you...

Chorus
How did you know
Cause I never told
You found out...I got a crush on you
No more charades
My heart's been displayed
You found out...I got a crush on you

Maybe I was the one who left the trace
Was there a message written on my face?
Were my emotions so easily read
That you would know my thoughts before a word was said
Was it my eyes that let you know you had control
Because the way you moved was so self-assured
You knew I would surrender

Chorus
How did you know
Cause I never told
You found out...I got a crush on you
No more charades
My heart's been displayed
You found out...I got a crush on you

Instrumental bridge

Chorus

I bought their first two albums,'The Jets'(1985) and 'Magic'(1987),they had alot of cool songs...

"Curiosity" (1985)
"Private Number" (1985)
"You Got It All" (1985) (their BEST song!!)
"Love Umbrella" (1985)
"I Do You" (1987) (the video was filmed at Paisley Park)
"Cross My Broken Heart" (1987)
"Make It Real" (1987)
"Anytime" (1987)

Prince was a huge fan of theirs too.In 1986,there was a rumor that The Jets would open for Prince on his tour.He then offered them a song "Neon Telephone",which they turned down.He allowed them the opportunity to film their "I Do You" video at Paisley Park. And,if I'm not mistaken, they were living in Minneapolis too.

I saw them in concert in March 1986,just right before they became really big.The song "Crush On You" had just been released as a single. They were performing on a bill with Ready For the World and Doug E.Fresh featuring Slick Rick.I thought they were the best act on that tour.

I have the 12" for "Crush on You." I also liked their first album. I have bid on it a few times on Ebay but haven't won it yet.

I loved them especially their first one
That Curiosity came out near Thanksgiving and had Princve production written all over it..sounding like long version of Little Red Corvette with th e chicken scratch geetar and moody bass..with that David Z ( ?) producing it's no wonder.

This was some of the corny kiddie pop I had to buy in order to placate my wife. I'd hit the Cd stores with her and she'd pad the stack with FIVE STAR, PAULA ABDUL, JANET JACKSON, MADONNA and other useless and totally worthless fluff. I have to confess I have their stuff but nobody plays that crap (at least not when I'm driving).

Only because it wasn't really bubble gum, and had a good groove.

Did you know that "Rocket 2 U" was originally offered to Earth Wind and Fire? It was submitted to them while they were recording their 1987 album 'Touch The World'.They rejected it,and the Jets used it instead.

No, I didn't know that. It's good it was rejected.

Loved the Jets also. Have the first album and the 12' of Crush on You and have their concert in Hawaii on video.

Last I heard, most of them moved to Salt Lake City at one time, but half of them have now moved to Hawaii. Eddie and his family were running a video store in SLC; Kathy has a son and works for the Airline industry in SLC; Haini is married with quite a few kids in SLC; Rudy is single and producing I think in L.A.or Hawaii; Eugene is married and with a couple of kids in Hawaii or Tonga; Moana is in Hawaii and Married, Elizabeth is married with a couple of kids in Hawaii, and although she is fine now, she had a bout with breast cancer a couple of years ago. Lastly, Leroy is married with a couple of kids and is also the manager of the "New" Jets, which basically consists of their younger brothers and sisters and a couple of cousins.

Loved the Jets back in the day. What fun they were. Music was a totally different thing back then. Just imagine if they came out today. They would have to sing about sex in order to be successful and that would be awful.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

2bnasty's comment just took me back. Yes, I do remember their ad, "Be Smart, Don't Start". But I believe it was against teen alcoholism because they include the line, "drinking hurts". But anyways, The Jets, as corny as they are to folks now were undenialbly the schiznit back in the day. I used to love that "Rocket 2 U" track back in the day. I think they were rivaling the DeBarge family if I'm not mistaken.

We got a chance to be friends with Miss.Lydia Marie.

An awesome guitarist and songwriter who wrote "How Can I Be Sure"for The Jets.

She was also a staff writer for Jimmy and Terry.

A very nice and talented lady.(Beautiful, too!)
