Sounds like something Dannii left off her last album! Something tells him this won't be the first single for America (becuase it certaintly isn't a "Can't Get You Out of My Head"). By the time the album comes out here, Kylie should at least be on her second Euro single, which will probably be the first American single. I was always dissapointed by the fact that "Eyes" was never really a single here (I don't think it was becuase the time it was out in Europe ".Can't..." was all over here).

Let's compare reviews of Mariah's and Kylie's last albums, shall we?
If it didn't follow Glitter, the gold standard for diva implosions in the early 21st century, Mariah Carey's Charmbracelet would simply be her worst album, but since it was rushed out in late 2002 in an effort to mask that disaster, to treat it as if it never happened, it achieves a special kind of grandeur -- it's a botched attempt to restore a career after a botched attempt at a crossover. Of course, the Carey party line, including her new label Island (who has sponsored her vanity imprint, MonarC), claims her lone Virgin album, Glitter, shouldn't be considered an official Mariah album since it was a soundtrack, but not only does that theory not hold water (perhaps Purple Rain shouldn't be considered a Prince album, then?), it signals that everybody realizes that Glitter wasn't just a disaster, but that her whole ghetto-fabulous trip of the late '90s eroded her core MOR audience. So, with Charmbracelet, the backpedalling is immediately evident, from the demure photos gracing the artwork (the tight shorts of Rainbow are long gone) and the first single/opening track "Through the Rain," a slow ballad designed as "Vision of Love" meets "Hero." Mariah is back in the adult contemporary camp, no longer trying to prove that she's real. She hasn't completely abandoned hip-hop, but whenever it rears its head on Charmbracelet, it's utterly jarring, whether it's Jay-Z's and Freeway's guest spots on "You Got Me," the club-ready groove of "You Had Your Chance" (built on the same bass line as "Nuthin' but a G Thang"), or the blatant rewrite of Cam'ron's "Oh Boy" on "Boy (I Need You)" (he may endorse it with a cameo, yet the sampled vocal hook remains singularly annoying no matter how its presented), or the crackling vinyl used as ambient noise on "Irresistible," or the distracting use of dripping water as percussion on "I Only Wanted." Weirdly enough, even these detours are nothing more than flourishes -- window-dressing on songs that remain firmly in the middle of the road, since that's where the sales are, or at least where Mariah's aging fan base is. This, of course, is not a problem, since she's done hip-hop-influenced dance tunes and ballads very well before. What is a problem is that there are no good songs on this record outside of Def Leppard's power ballad classic "Bringin' on the Heartbreak," which isn't even covered all that well. What is a greater problem is that Mariah's voice is shot, sounding in tatters throughout the record. Whenever she sings, there's a raspy whistle behind her thin voice and she strains to make notes throughout the record. She cannot coo or softly croon, nor can she perform her trademark gravity-defying vocal runs. Her voice is damaged, and there's not a moment where it sounds strong or inviting. That alone would be disturbing, but since the songs are formless and the production bland -- another reason why the hip-hop announces itself, even though it's nowhere near as pronounced as it has been since Butterfly -- her tired voice becomes the only thing to concentrate on, and it's a sad, ugly thing, making an album that would merely have been her worst into something tragic. -- Stephen Thomas Erlewine Fame can be a fleeting mistress, and nowhere more so than in the land of dance-pop divas. Many are lucky enough to have a hit album, much less two or three. What usually takes a one-hit wonder from the singles charts to career diva lies less in catchy hooks than in a combination of talent and the choice of collaborators. Obviously, the master of this technique is Madonna, whose talent and eye for talent in others has made her not only a worldwide pop sensation, but a worldwide icon. Arguably, running a close second is Kylie Minogue. Starting off as not much more than a female voice for the massively successful Stock, Aitken & Waterman hit factory, she moved on to work with some of the most prominent dance producers of the early '90s, making her one of the most visible pop stars outside of the United States. By 1997, she moved on to working with writers outside the genre. While this may have translated into poor record sales, her motives were in the right place. With 2001's Fever, Minogue combines the disco-diva comeback of the previous year's Light Years with the trend of highly simple dance rhythms which was prevalent in the teen dance-pop craze of the years surrounding the album's release. While on the surface that might seem like an old dog trying to learn new tricks, Minogue pulls it off with surprising ease. The first single, "Cant Get You out of My Head," is a sparse, mid-tempo dance number that pulses and grooves like no other she's recorded, and nothing on Light Years was as funky as the pure disco closer of "Burning Up." And while it's hard not to notice her tipping her hat to the teen pop sound (in fact, on this record she works with Cathy Dennis, former dance-pop star and writer/producer for Brit-teen pop group S Club 7) on songs like "Give It to Me" and "Love at First Sight," her maturity helps transcend this limiting tag, making this a very stylish Euro-flavored dance-pop record that will appeal to all ages. Not one weak track, not one misplaced syrupy ballad to ruin the groove. The winning streak continues. [The U.S. version, released in early March of 2002, included the hidden tracks "Boy" and "Butterfly" -- a B-side and Light Years album track, respectively.] -- Chris True Yeah, "Slow" certainly doesn't measure up to the wonders of "Charmbracelet." I'm really not a big fan of Slow, or Red Hot Blooded Woman.
After the Fischerspooner Mix of Come Into My World and the performance of the Soulwax mix of CGYOOMH, I was all set for Kylie going all electro, like (an even more commercial version of) Goldfrapp's last album. I have everything she's ever done, so Body Language is of course on my shopping list, but I'm so dissappointed she doesn't seem to be going all-out electro. Kylie is just the high-profile artist to bring the great artists from this genre who are bubbling under the surface of commerciality to the fore - Like Madonna did in the 80s/early 90's. Madonna was never an innovator, she was the ultimate magpie, picking and choosing the best of the underground and bringing it to the fore. I don't think Body Language is gonna do that. Oh well. As a side note, the new Holly Valance album is very good. It's what I thought Kylie would have gone for with Body Language. //-- [This message was edited Wed Oct 29 12:24:22 PST 2003 by Romance1600] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To say Kylie is acclaimed if foolish, But saying Kylie is talented in not? Anyway you chose to read the reviews you like, you posted one bad Mariah review and all of a sudden Kylie is better then her. Well about this Mariah Glitter review: If Mariah's recent meltdown was brought on by worrying about her new album, she should save some money on therapy. The soundtrack to her first movie is surprisingly great, the first time she's ever had material worthy of the five-octave voice that's often been more of a curse than a blessing, Carey keeps things uptempo and vocally restrained here, and the difference is startling. Drawing heavily on the '80s (the film is set then), Glitter wisely returns Cherelle's "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" to its original Princely groove and offers a credible take on the club hit "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life." Meanwhile, synth-funking originals like "All My Life" and "Want You," featuring Eric Benet, are just as impressive. Yet while the guest list is long--it also includes Mystikal, Ludacris, and Ja Rule, among others--Glitter shines brightest on a pair of introspective slow jams that are all Carey. Count on pop psychologists to dissect "Reflections" and "Twister" for clues to Mariah's mental state, but no matter what they find, the tunes are gorgeous--and this is by far her best album ever.

I've seen Kylie live twice and she can cut it live let me tell you.
Sure she isn't a Whitney or a Mariah, she doesn't have that kind of outstanding vocal talent, but then Kylie isn't on that level, she's not a vocalist, she's a performer. And let's not forget that she was originally an actress, not a singer, I think her heart has always stayed with acting, I think sooner or later she will go back to acting. I think the phenomenal success of her PWL records in Britain, Europe, Asia and of course Australia led her away from acting and further into music. Her musical career has been fantastically varied as well, like Madonna she has been able to transform her image in myriad ways. Same goes for her music, she began as another act on the roster of Stock, Aitken & Waterman - making some of the most memorable Hi-NRG and pop records of the late 80s. She's flirted with many styles of music and has developed her music over the 16 years she's been in the biz. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Saucer of milk, table for two when it comes to Twink69 and Moonbeam. While I've never liked anything Mariah has done, to be fair no one has reviewed "Slow", which isn't that great if you ask me (and I kind of like Kylie but don't live for her). I don't think "Slow" is a good first US single but what do I know.
As for the question if "Is She Hot". She is definately hot again. She was really hot early in her career but then I saw some photos of her from that "Princess" album and she wasn't so hot (in one, she had a boy's haircut and looked like something from a Bowie video). Dannii is the hotter Minogue!
