Andreas Vollenweider - Pearls & Tears

Somebody clarify this for me, which came first?
I didn;t realy know that Prince was a big fan of this guy until post "prince" album, however I do remember hearing
"Pearls & Tears" by said artist around the same time as the release of Prince's Diamonds & Pearls".

I guess my Q. is, which came first and has any1 heard any more of Vollenwieder's material?

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

I used to hear him a lot when "New Age" music was big--like the late 80's early 90's. Here in Detroit we had a station called "The Wave" that lasted for about a year and played all that kinda stuff. Haven't heard anything since from Vollenwieder. shrug

Just googled him up...: http://www.vollenweider.com

I bought (one of) his first album(s) way back around 1982/3, "Caverna Magica". They used to play his music to the weather forecast on one of the local TV stations... lol

Apparently a DVD is in the making and 2004 sees a new audio release. Anyway, not my cup of tea anymore.

And I'm sorry to say I can't answer your question, DreZone rolleyes

'Pearls and Tears' featured on Vollenweider's album, 'Dancing With the Lion', released in 1989.

Vollenweider continues to record and release material.

The core of his band still perform with him, but during the '90s he began to incorporate influences from across the world, and work with a mixture of different accomplished musicians both on albums and live.

On the last few albums he has worked with various choirs and orchestras, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Michael Brecker, Bobby McFerrin, Milton Nascimento and Carly Simon, to name but a few.
