Patrice Rushen's Prelusion/Before The Dawn-Does Anybody Have This? I once read an article about her being highly recommended by Herbie Hencock. By a fan of the brotha, I really sense his influence all over the album YET being able to mentian her signature playing and her musical idenity.
I always 4get how much of solid Funk/Jazz musician Patrice was-and is 4 that matter(her early stuff are just NOTHING 2 be fucked with at all, thats all I have 2 say). I get alot of challange playing some of her stuff either in rhodes or acoustic piano. I always listen 2 that album and just hear what exactly am I missing, best thang about it is how balanced the whole thang is. I always hear something new each time I give this ablum a listen. How I love that hypnotic vibe all over the LP(most notable examples-Razzia & B4 The Dawn). She was HIGHLY-RESPECTED by Jazz critics but man, did they flame her or what when she turned RnB/Pop? I personaly, couldn't get mad at that at all since I enjoyed her lata stuff as much as I enjoyed her early stuff. But damn that would be something to hear Patrice doing a NEW Funk/Jazz album(with or without singing, I don't care) if she's gonna rock that fender rhodes then hell if I got a problem.

I don't have it...
Harl...Patrice And, Harle, I would love to hear you play... "Numbers" has been my favorite Patrice instrumental, but for the most part I love her vocal tracks... I'm listening to her and DJ Rogers at this moment...
