Luther Vandross Update and New Album Coming!

The R&B Crooner...who should be awarded 'King of R&B'
Is up and ready for a huge comeback...according to J records, the artist is feeling good these days walking around, singing and planning his next release.

Luther who suffered a stroke earlier this spring, was in a coma for more than a month, and doctors were uncertain if the singer would pull through, but after millions of prayer went out from the candle light ceremonies held across the states from thousands of fans along with entertainers and family, the singers health is near a 100%.

Luthers stroke didn't effect his singing or ability to function normal duties on a daily basis.
The Singer is in good spirits and on tuesday will release his first ever Live Disc on J records which was recorded at Radio City Music Hall in New York just 2 months before his stroke, the singer who weighs up and down on the scale, is at his happiest and plans to maintain a healthy diet, which he believes resulted in his failing heart condition from years and years of weight gain and loss "from one extreme to another" the singer states at press time.

Luther doesn't have any immediate plans as of yet to begin work on his follow up to the multi-platnium disc 'DANCE WITH MY FATHER', but would like to record music with his Label mate and American Idol 'Ruben Studdard'.

For now the order of business is: Luther Vandross 'Live at Radio City Music Hall 2003'...In stores on Tuesday 10/28/03.

I'm glad to hear that Luther is getting better, and that his singing voice has not been affected by his recent health problems. I read that while Luther was in the hospital recovering from his stroke that he also battled meningitis and pneumonia! omfg I hope that he continues to sing and make music for many years to come.

where did you get this information? I just read an interview with his mother, and he is not getting ready to do anything...just trying to rehabilitate, and it is very slow going...

Depending on how long ago the interview with his mom was conducted... according to E!, a spokesperson said Luther is doing well, up and singing...and has plans to record in early 2004.
They never stated that Luther was about to record a new song or whatever!
They said he's showed interest in recording soon and with Ruben Studdard...that Luther is also feeling better these days...last time I heard he was taking things slow due to the stroke, was earlier this summer, when his mom did an interview...so your interview may be a bit old and reissued or copied from previous sources.

I'm only stating what is fact from the source, as for the new disc, LIVE-Luther...you can go directly to the website for that info!

Peace

I think the problem was, for so long there was very little info on him, and then it all seemed to come in at once. Old and new. I am glad that he is improving. Not to sound morbid, but I thought for sure he was going to be another celeb loss this year.. Lutha is a gift!!

Me too. When the stroke first happened and Luther was in that coma, I thought for sure he would not make it. I'm sooo glad that I was wrong!

OK, I'm glad he's doing well and all, but why is it that we heard so many things about him when he was not doing well but now that he's starting his recovery, no one's saying anything?? He was all over the news when they wanted us all to pray for him and everything, but now that he's beginning to do better, that's not in the news?? I didn't even know his condition had changed from grim to this!!
