The new Sting album

I just got the new Sting record and I think it's fantastic! I wasn't so sure how it was gonna be after I heard the single "Send Your Love" but it's really great and "Send..." has really grown on me! Lots of great playing on it and some cool guests (Mary J.Blige among others!) Anyone else out there into Sting at all?

I love Gordon, his vibe and most of his music. The new one has gotton so much hype that I've stayed away.

GuitarSlinger has made me buy.

Whats the sound like?

I have a love/hate with his solo stuff. My faves are "Let your soul be your pilot" and "Its probably me".

Any clues?

I love Sting. I like his new album, but it's no Mercury Falling or Dream of the Blue Turtles. It's like Brand New Day in the sense that it grows on you and gets better and better with time.

Definitely! Most of his stuff after Ten Summoner's Tales hasn't been stuff I've loved immediately. I thought it was good, but I wasn't obsessed with it like I was TST. HAving said that and in response to SquirrelMeat I would have to say it's got a lot more club/techno vibes to it but with some good world music thrown in. It's a really eclectic sounding record but it's good and listenable. If nothing else it's worth getting just to hear the track with Mary J. Blige. She sounds so mature and musical on it as opposed to when I heard her perform with Marc Anthony on some tv show. She stepped all over him and he didn't do that well covering up his surprise, it was kinda funny! But back on topic, if you like the real moody introspective stuff Sting's done, you'll probably dig this record.

I love Sting. I heard so much crap about the single, I was a bit worried the album would be crappy. But I'm glad to see people like it. I gotta get a copy soon.
