Andre 3000 To Play Hendrix in Biopic

http://www.aintitcool.com...i?id=16343

'Scuse me while I eat my pie! JIMI HENDRIX biopic in the works!
Hey folks, Harry here... To me, I don't know if I'd really like to see a Biopic of Jimi Hendrix done... instead... I'd love to see a computer animated Fantasia/Allegro Non Troppo/Pink Floyd's The Wall style descent into the music... Call the flick... THE EXPERIENCE and just unleash the most amazing visual asskicking experience ever. That's just me probably.
Greeting Mr. Harry, long time reader, first time blah, blah, blah... Rolling Stones newest issue has an interesting tidbit about the greatest guitar player ever. It seems Jimi Hendrix's life will be made into a biopic, and playing him will be Andre 3000 from the hiphop duo Outkast. Personally, I would love to see the casting of other major players in that era's music scene. (i.e. Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, etc.) not to mention the fact that there hasn't been a decent biopic about a rock icon since The Doors. Well, I hope you find this as intriguingas I did, you can call me, Randal McMurphy.

IMO let the man's music speak for itself and unless it's actual footage (Dick Cavitt for example) leave the drama for the movie stars (and E)

Yeah but a biopic WOULD be interesting. And no, they'll NEVER find a decent person to play him - left handed Seattle-accented black guitar player that can act? Unless you count the bass player from King's X - and he's what, 7 feet tall, so they'd have to put everybody else on milk cartons to do their part.

But I digress. I'd LOVE to see a decent biopic on the guy. There WAS one that came out a few yrs ago (10?) and I didn't watch it cuz the guy didn't look anything like Hendrix, but, come on, do you want visual authenticity, or do you want to find out what his life was like growing up playing the chitlin circuit... (so, then, the GA accent MIGHT be accurate! And hey, I'm from GA and have no accent whatsoever y'all).

Hell, I'd be happy if they put James Earl Jones as Hendrix, as long as the movie focused more on the musical development and performances and band politics, and less on the chix and drugs, like the Doors movie. The music damn near took a backseat to the dude's drinking and pooning.
