after years of seeing her lip-synch, i ACTUALLY heard Britney Spears sing LIVE last nice!!! anyone else see SNL?
the first song was lip-synched. and very badly lip-synched i might add. I have seen drag queens do more convincing lip-synchs of her songs than her. but the second song, she ACTUALLY seemed to be singing. after years of seeing her perform on awards shows and what not, never once have i seen her ACTUALLY sing. not bad... not christina good, but not bad Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton | |

Last year on SNL she sang that "Not a girl not yet a woman" (or whatever it's called) song live and did a much better job then she did last night. | |

Jessica Simpson actually sings better A lot of people think Jessica Simpson really is a great singer but she has no career though. I think Britney has always sang her "ballads" live. Not that I care. The best musical preformances of the night had nothing to do with Britney. First there was the Ashford and Simpson bit where a woman that Halle Berry plays is obbessed with them. It was kind of funny, the fact that they are playing in a hotel. Better yet was the "Best Of Klymaxxx" CD where they made fun of their two upbeat songs ("Meeting In The Ladies Room" and "THe Men All Pause") along with a rare song "I'm Not Dutch" and a cover of "Hungry Like the Wolf" that sounded nothing like it. Halle Berry played the really wiry skinny chick although she also did the rapping (and I'm pretty sure in the video, these where different women). Anyway. both bits were pretty funny but probably had to be over 25 and a big music fan of the eighties to udnerstand either bit. I was glad to see the Keenan from those Nickeldon shows was on there. [This message was edited Sun Oct 19 15:05:05 PDT 2003 by VinnyM27] last night's show kinda sucked... i think SNL is about to hit another of the valleys in it's long history of peaks and valleys (valleys? vallies?) the best of klymaxxx was great. the ashford and simpson thing was good for a few seconds, but lost it. the worst was seeing them recycle bits from past SNL stars. the brokaw doing the answering machine message was a shmeless ripoff of dana crvey doing brokaw being forced to tape a promo in case gerald ford died . "da bears" thing that horatio sanz did goes without saying, and the ghetto girls in the japanese resteraunt was a rip-off of tons of other sketches from SNL and other shows. oy... 4 or 5 years of crap. then they will fire everyone, and it will get really good again Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton | |

It has been really bad ever since Will Ferrel left, even his last year on the show was a really weak year. I don't know if the writers are just out of jokes or what, but it's not completely the cast's fault. | |

a few thoughts:
- Britney has no need to sing live - it's horrid
- SNL was pretty weak last night, the only thing that made me laugh was the news (in spots) - So next weeks show is gonna be the Best of Tracy Morgan  BUT WHY don't they ever do a "best of" show when a woman leaves???  Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon & Ana Gasteyer were all hilarious. So why didn't anyone give a shit when they left? Actually I hope I'm wrong, I hope there was a best of & I just missed them... I always wondered WHY is she not getting promoted. well I think the first reason is The Record Label can't have her talk!!! WE are seeing now on her Reality Show why they couldnt promote her 
also I think it is she is such a "clone" in look to Brintey and Britney was first.. so Jessica looks like a "Bruce Li" of Pop Singers | |

They did do a best of Molly Shannon. It wasn't that great. They always seem to choose the worst bits or they cut them down to size. I remember the Best of Chirs Farley and they totally screwed it up. It should have been longer and they should have played the whole clips of things like Gap girls, which was an ensemble thing. He was so great! | |
