Copyright Controlled CD's

On the insert it states Playback problems may be encountered on some equipment

And its kinda ticking me off being it doesnt play in my Discman nor did it play in my stereo(before it broke) nor the other stereo in the living room.

Its only on the Import CD singles i've gotten that are (oddly all Australian made discs)

anyone else expereincing problems with these copy controlled discs?

Useful forum for discussing problems with copy-protected audio discs. I simply don't buy them when I find out they are copy protected.

They are ridiculous because it only affects the people who BUY the CDs - hardcore copiers can get around it relatively easy, so they aren't really affected, only the consumers who have actually paid the money for it!

It really annoys me when I get a CD and can't listen to it on my computer, in the car etc.

A truly absurd idea, the only solution is to protest and not buy them, but really, will that work? Nope!

Well, there's your average healthy log. Full of goodness, rich in odour and rather firm. They're also fairly long lasting so you get your money's worth. I would recommend this one.

There's your beer & curry log. Rather sloppy and difficult to contain in just one hand. But fun at parties.

And the third on offer today is the ghost log. This one slips out of sight before you even know you've done it and leaves no trace of itself. Often used to confuse the masses.

hectim

If I play one on my PC at work (where I play most of my cd's), the damn drive locks up and I need to restart. That shit is twisted. There's been a number of cd's I haven't bought for this reason, like the last Maceo album.

Copy control CDs are made everywhere. EMI is the biggest offender. My Bowie CDs all play in their own audio player when I put them in my computer.

But I don't have a problem ripping them, so their copy protection is useless. biggrin
