First of all

Rafael Saadiq's first solo album "Instant Vintage" considering he's been in the business so long and this is actually his first solo album, IMHO, think he should have called this "Instant Garbage" and drop that ego sh*t that broke up Lucy Pearl.

Second...

Dwele is probably the most promising artist at the moment, however it's unfortunate that people such as Jamie B. Hawkins and Bilal Oliver are not getting the props they so rightly deserve.

Co-sign with the Mint condition! woot! their first three albums under A&M are awesome but when they siugned to Virgin, they tried to create what could only be considered to be a commercially 'accessible' album.

Why? they already have classics such as "Pretty Brown Eyes", "U Send Me Swingin'" and "Nobody Does It better"

I am really rating Floetry at the moment - ironically, they are being slept on in their native UK, but have been making waves stateside. They will definitely have more longevity than their duo fore'mothers' ("Fabu" & "Mary Mary" instantly come 2 mind 4 some reason although "Zhane" evade this list).

Off-topic, I'd recommend any of Slum Village's material as I think that they are probably a post-modernistic "A Tribe Called Quest" and maybe the legacy of super-hiphop-prodcuer Bob Power, even Q-tip himself was willing to pass the gauntlet of "Fantastic Vol II".

Think I'm going 2 listen 2 my 12" of Rahsaan Patterson's "Stop By" now...

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Yes, the Thicke CD was fantastic. I hate to see it being completely ignored commercially. And I personally thought Raphael Saadiq's CD Instant Vintage was really good but it seems like one of those albums that for every person that likes it there's someone who doesn't.
