Anyone Have The New Shelby Lynne Album? I love love LOVE "I Am Shelby Lynne", but the album she did after that sucked such rancid, smelly, rotten eggs that I fear that I'll never fully wash the stank out of my eardrums.
The new album "Identity Crisis" is supposed to be a return to form...I wanna get it but I don't think I can bear hearing anything as horrible as her last album...anyone take the risk? Yay or nay?

Anxiety...get this album!. I'm right there with you. "I am Shelby Lynne" just fucking blew me away. The album that followed should be used to wipe your ass. It pandered to her newfound acclaim and was just too simple, easy and trite for her.
Identity Crisis is every bit as honest and fresh as I am. I highly recommend it. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I encourage you to buy IDENTITY CRISIS...it is a return to form after the awful LOVE,SHELBY record. Even she says that album was an attempt by her previous record company to make her a mainstream success...it backfired.
IDENTITY CRISIS is amazing...it's pretty much all Shelby's singing and playing aside from a couple of other instruments...very sparse sound...she recorded most of it alone at her Palm Springs home. Highlight: 'LONESOME' is kind of an ode to Patsy Cline...it's so damn good and sounds so classic. If you're a drinker...this is totally a drinker's album! Enjoy Every minute of last night is on my face today....

True.
The thing I loved about "I am" is her connection to tragedy. That connection is alive on this album. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
