Despues,
Given the titles you listed you'd probably like "Instant Vintage" by Raphael Saadiq. He's also got another album under the name Lucy Pearl which featured Dawn Robinson from En Vogue among others. Also check out Sting's new one "Sacred Love" it's really good!

If you love MUSIC, you'll absolutely LOVE Beth Hart She has a Brand spanking new CD out tomorrow called "Leave The Light On"..from what I have heard so far this Cd is gonna be AWESOME. And I have heard about 1/3 of the album. Her other CDs are absolute staples in ANYONES music library, her last release "Screaming for My Supper" and the CLASSIC debut Cd "IMMORTAL" If you don't like Beth Hart, you might as well throw it all down and call it quits! Hope that HELPS!! Beth Hart - Immortal Beth Hart - Screaming For My Supper Beth Hart - Leave The Light On ENjoy!!! Big up to 2bnasty for bringing up !!!(chk chk chk) I saw them live last summer and they were cool. Also you should check out these artists:
Hot Hot Heat- Canadian Alt/neo-PostPunk quartet that has a hit out with "Bandages". Robert Randolph & The Family Band- his album "Unclassified" is an awesome mix of Soul/Funk, Rock, Blues, & Gospel. Also, if you see him live or on T.V., you will see how awesome Randolph is on the slide guitar. Longwave- Think U2 meets The Psychedelic Furs. Anthony Hamilton- Not your ordinary run of the mill Neo-Soul. He's got something special. Stellastar*- Think Talking Heads having a 3-way with the Cure and Buzzcocks. That's all I can think of now. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I'm looking for some FRESH sounds to listen to... These are the albums I have most recently bought to give you an idea of what I like... OutKast - Speakerboxxx/Love Below TTD - Wildcard! and Symphony or Damn Sly and the Family Stone - The Essential Mya - Mood Ring Those are on my playlist most at the moment... So, what are you listening to and why do you like it? Cheers. Aside from Mya I've got (and like) those albums you mentioned. Based on these, however, I don't know how you'd like what I'd suggest but you said you wanted something fresh. So why not try out Revelling/Reckoning by Ani Difranco. She has great live albums I'd recommend as well including "Live in Clip" and "So Much Shouting So Much Laughter". The reason I like her work is first and foremost her spirit and energy-- you can feel it. She uses live instrumentation and like Prince uses her voice well as an instrument. She has a good feel of how to use it though I could name a number of people with more gifted voices (the same can be said with regards to Prince). Another plus is that she's a great lyricist. She's also a freedom-fighter so to speak and is one of the most successful independent artists out there. To describe her music is tough. Her roots are in folk music but there are certain elements of punk, rock and more recently jazz. Like Prince she's dabbled in many genres including hip-hop (no Tony M's) :relieved: Her style might take some getting used to but believe me it'll be worth your while.
