Beyonce: 'God won't let me kiss girls'

Bootylicious diva Beyonce Knowles has ruled out any girl-on-girl kisses, like Britney Spears and Madonna, because God has not given her permission.

However, the devout Christian says God is OK with her wearing sexy clothes and stripping on stage.

The singing star said about the girl-on-girl kiss: "I have standards. There are things I will not do."

Beyonce added: "I always carry myself like a lady. I don't feel like I ever do anything raunchy.

"It's entertainment and I believe God is OK with that."

The Destiny's Child star has also admitted that she has had to ditch her favourite diet of junk food to be able to squeeze into the saucy outfits she has become famous for.

BTW, this is something a lot of people have been giving me in email. I don't know if ITV is a valid source for news or if it's a tabloid.

poor thing! I can only hope she finds GOD in time, before drugs and booze will take her over as well.

Sounds like by saying God won't LET her, that she's run this past him.

What nonsense. Beyonce's recent videos have been quite raunchy, and she's been shaking her arse strip-club style in all of em. This is the same woman who sang "nasty, put some clothes on, won't ya" She's very talented and I personally don't think she needs to act so tarty to sell records (not that I'm complaining, she's very easy on the eyes).

It's half of Beyonce's male audeince waving good-bye to her . She better not get old and ugly again or the rest of us guys leave as well! And little girl's are really fickle with what they listen to, so don't count on them. Two words for Beyonce. "Anita Byrant". Two more words. "Liza Minelli". The fact that woman even makes records (and they chart!) still proves divas really need a gay male audience.

OK, peep. I have no problem with anyone being an individual, but the media has extreme double standards towards expressing sexuality in the arts. The media has a definite heterosexual male eye and gaze when it comes to objectifcation and body worship. The way women parade around music videos, award shows, etc. would have the average hetero dude getting blueballs -- it's so incessant and in-your-face.

I am maddened at whoever quoted Beyoncé and how they just blatantly asked her to potentially participate in same-sex kissing, but would NEVER ask Ben Affleck, Jimmy Kimmel, Brad Pitt, DMX or any other "alpha male." If two men were to ever kiss they would get thoroughly lambasted and ridiculed.

We live in a patriarchal, male-dominated, heterosexist WASP centered society that valorizes and RESPECTS male fantasies. The status quo sadly plays into that.

Why does Beyoncé HAVE to be the one who takes the sole flack for not kissing another female? There are plenty average & ev'ryday folk in the Western World who have strong reservations and commitments to their religions. Just ask George W. Bush (who speaks adamantly against legalizing same-sex marriages -- and is *still* the popular leader of the Free World) and any other perceived hetero man in society. So what?! Beyoncé HAS to go along with the lesbianism/female-to-female heterosexist fetish so popular in the media today? NO. Let her be an individual.

At the same time, she shouldn't be so hypocritical. If you're all about religion, keep it on the gospel tip and try to change the game in that regard. Non-heteros shouldn't be marginalized and deemed anti-Christian or deviant to the norm just because they're not shacking up with the opposite sex.

Granted Beyoncé is quasi-contradictory, but in an industry where sex has been normalized it's almost REQUIRED to stay at the top of the game if you're a female pop star...and that's wack.

it really should not matter to her if sex has become the norm in her industry. what should matter to her first and formeost, if she is a christian, is her faith and what it holds her to. if keeping God happy and living by the Word means keeping the clothes on and selling less records, well, then that's what she has to do. its not a bargaining game. you can't say "ok God, i'm gonna take most of my clothes off and influence a lot of young kids, but i'm going to alk about being a christian and not kiss girls. how's that for a deal?" it just doesn't work that way. and before anybody says what i know is coming next...no, i'm not perfect. i also do not decide, or justify (probably more appropriate in this case), my actions while putting another's actions down. we all fall short. i think beyonce needs to stop reminding us that she's "not gonna compromise [her] christianity" while she's taking off her clothes in the name of entertainment.
