New Yoko Ono Remixes Listen to two-minute MP3 samples of the new Yoko Ono remixes:
"Will I" (Creamer & K Remix) http://store.yahoo.com/li...ONOWI1.mp3 "Fly" (Rob Rives Remix) http://store.yahoo.com/li...NOFLY1.mp3 "Will I" (Creamer and K Ambient Mix) http://store.yahoo.com/li...ONOWI2.mp3 "O'Oh" (Nuspirit Helsinki Remix) http://store.yahoo.com/li...ONOOOH.mp3 "Death of Samantha" (Porcupine Tree Remix) http://store.yahoo.com/li...ONODOS.mp3 What can I say but WOW, best Yoko remixes to date. What a strange and unexpectedly effective selection of tracks! The lyrics to "Will I" over dance beats... how eery. "O'Oh" is real slow and funky, like Ballad of Dorothy Parker. And the "Fly" mix, with all that famous screaming transformed to trance - aural bliss. Death Of Samantha is masterfully reworked as well. This is much better than any of the recent Walking On Thin Ice remixes, although I doubt it'll have the same commercial impact. Yoko is back, folks! I have to admit that I couldnt even finish listening to the first remix. Sorry but it's CRAP! I love John Lennon but his
her music SUCKS! Can u imagine what kind of album Double Fantasy would have been if half it wasn't CRAP! Sorry, el_callejero

are these being released on CD?? I would love for a full CD of remixes, including Yang Yang and of course the PSB version of Thin Ice

Oh no... I see we're in for an old-fashioned Onobashing. I thought the same about her music at first - it's all screaming, no talent, etc. - but after a while of forcing myself to sit through her songs on Double Fantasy, I got used to it and something clicked. It's hard to explain, but her music has a beautiful raw emotional quality to it - and, no, I don't really call it singing, it's something else entirely. She's been through a lot of pain, and the screeching is her expression of that. Plus, when she sings conventionally she doesn't sound that bad either. "Season of Glass" is a beautiful album. And she was a tremendous influence on the B-52's, Courtney Love, Bjork, NIN, and punk/new wave in general.

The ONOBOX is absolutely fantastic ... some of my faves are You're the One, Approximately Infinite Universe, Death of Samantha, etc...
