Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' Deluxe Edition

Does anyone have any info on the upcoming Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' Deluxe Edition? According to CDUniverse,it will be released on Tuesday November 18,but there is no tracklist.I assume it will be an expanded 2-CD set.Does anyone know what the bonus tracks will be? Was there another thread about it that I missed?

btw,the Deluxe Edition of 'Tusk' will also be released on this same day.

All I know at this point is that it will include Silver Springs (if you don't know the controversy around this song, it was taken off the original Rumours tracklist in 1977) and a different version of Oh Daddy (with more Stevie background vocals prominent). The TUSK expanded version is supposed to include the remasterd 8-minute version of Sara (Some fans may know this as the "Cleaning lady" version--there are rumors taht a 16-minute version of sara exists but fans are still looking for it!) and some additional tracks that did not make the album (Some speculate it will include Stevie's: The Dealer and the Tusk version of "Smile at You.") I heard the TUSK release was pushed back to February, no?!

Yeah, the current reunion just isn't the same without Christine. In fact,I prefer her vocals to Stevie's.

Obviously Christine cares or she'd be there wouldn't she? And here's hoping they milk the cow dry I know I'll be waiting like a starving little calf.

I'm a big fan of Christine McVie but after hearing the new album and seeing the show the other night they don't miss her at all. Sure it would be nice to hear her songs but it's nice to hear Lindsey and Stevie stretch out a bit.

Let me assure you--there is STILL FIRE at the Mac shows w/o Christine! By the way, Christine recently accepted in London on behalf of FM some prestigious award for the Rumours album-of course it's so prestigius i can't remember the name of it! But she is aging very well I must say as there were pics of her holding the award.

Also, Lindsey fans...he and his wife are expecting their third child in APril, '04! Congrats to Mr. Buckingham and his sex stamina!

Where can those pics of Christine be seen at? And where do you get all your Mac news? The fanclub doesn't have all this juicy stuff.

Yeah, I love her work but for me Stevie has the edge.

Fave Chris songs:

Over My head
Say You Love Me
Songbird
You Make Loving Fun
Over And Over
Think About Me
Brown Eyes
Never Forget
Only Over You
Hold Me
Little Lies
Isn't It Midnight

It's amazing how this third rate band can still milk their only, as in ONLY, worthwhile album for over 25 years.

I'm sure Prince is watching - "The Rainbow Cousins" and "One Weekend Alone" are in the works.

omfg

i have to assume you've never heard 'tusk' or the self titled record or 'say you will'. or shit, even 'mirage', for that matter. or perhaps you just don't appreciate the incredible dynamics buckingham/nicks brought to the band...and the musical world.

Actually ,I doubt the bands have much to do with remasters or re-releases .I think its the record companys who decide.

If you dont like the "Rumours" edition of the band ,have you listened to the Peter Green group? Or the Bob Welch/
Christine McVie fronted one?It seems harsh to write off their entire career as third rate.

Third rate!?! The only mediocre album that line-up put out was Mirage and even that had some decent tracks on it.

Yeah, the Peter Green version of the band actually was pretty good.

Anyway, you can't argue that since the release of Rumors you can point to 25+ years of musical growth with these guys. In a good year, P has grown more from 1 year to the next, and even in a mediocre period within a 3-5 year span. The same holds true for a lot of bands. (And my wife actually likes these guys, so we do have their stuff lying around - and it all sounds like "Rumors" to me.)

Face it, they're a bunch of half-assed, coke-head musicians that stumbled on a good sound and knew better than to change anything.

Actually I agree with you. Check my profile specifying: Early Stones (Brian Jones/Mick Taylor-era)

For a long time the Stones have been an oldies act, like The Grass Roots or The Temptations.
