Okay, let's see.
Fhunkin and I arrived BEFORE Noepie. Poor sod being caught in an awful trafficjam. He only missed the opening act. They sucked, so no harm done. Crowd was relaxed. The show started with a cartoon being shown on a huge screen all across the stage, that would used later on to set the mood/colors for the entire concert. This screen was elevated above the band, on a U-form ramp that enclosed the stage, allowing Bowie to make contact with the seated people. Then the cartoon changed into real life footage of the band and the band entered. Bowie walked on stage with them, kewl something, that. He is down with the band. Then they ran through the setlist posted above. What can I say? His voice was awesome. His looks classic. He wore a sort of penguin jacket and black pants with a zipper that showed. The jacket dissappeared soon. It's so incredible that he makes it all seem so easy, being the classiest performer out there. I let Noepie tell you all about the performance, which song was best etc. He is more knowledgable. I will just say that my faves were New Killer Star, Cactus, (okay; kill me) China Girl and Heroes.

Also. How great it was not to have to listen to Bowie rave about his new God, that we should join a club and no moaning about giving the fans what they wanna hear.
I realised that during the concert and it brought a smile to my face. Ooh, and I forgot. Someone I know knows somebody (vague, huh?) who had something to do with the photoshoot Mr & Mrs Bowie did for a new Tommy Hilfiger ad at the Amstel Hotel during their stay there. They are apparantly awful people. Maybe it was just the entourage, but I will keep you posted on fun inside Bowie stories. Go figure. Bowie, Iman and Hilfiger. Bowie's such a commercial man.

How cool!
Is this your first time seeing him? How was the band? How were your seats? Do you feel like a full time fan now?

How was the band? Leading part; Gail-An. She rocks, but the entire band was having fun, were relaxed. Like the audience. I am used to Prince fans. Bowie fans are less lethal. But they sing louder. How were your seats? Fhunkin and I were standing about 20 meters from the main stage, to the right Do you feel like a full time fan now? Nope. I need to spend more time on teenagewildlife for that. But I just discovered Friendster, so no chance of that... How does the setlist look compared to other shows? reallyreallystupidfatedit [This message was edited Thu Oct 16 1:01:59 PDT 2003 by gooeythehamster]

Not bad. The setlist looks wonderful. How long did he play? It had to be close to 3 hours.
I'm glad you got to go and glad you had a good time. What's Friendster?

I'm glad you got to go and glad you had a good time. What's Friendster? The concert flew by, about two and a half hours. I hated myself for going though. It was in Rotterdam and that is about one and a half hours by train. When FHUNKIN and I went there it was okay, excpet the dirty junkie that was doing crosswords. But the train ride back was HELL. It lasted about five hours (LOL; it FELT five hrs.) www.friendster.com Lots of Orgers on that site. needcoffeekindaedit [This message was edited Thu Oct 16 1:17:26 PDT 2003 by gooeythehamster]

Finally awake after a very short night, I was home at 2.30 and had to get out of bed at 7 again.
But it was so worth it. It was an amazing night with a great performance and the band is great and tight. The setlist was good and i realy liked the new accoustic version of Loving the Alien. Gooey was right about the opening of the show, that was something special. I had a lot of fun and it seemed like Ahoy was filled with people i know. I ran in to ex-neighbours, ex-co workers and a lot of friends. Even after 2 1/2 hours of bowie, the show seemed too short. Anybody that is still waiting for Bowie to get to their area: IT'S WORTH THE WAIT Highlight of the evening: the (hopefully) very funny group photo I took after the show had finished. WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!
