Alana Davis News For the people who dig her music, I got this in an e-mail from her promo team:
The recording process is in full swing and we think you’re gonna love the new music!!! Alana has been working very hard on writing new material and has now begun the recording process. Although the original plan was to record in Jamaica, it made more sense to stick in LA and New York. She hasn’t selected all of the musicians yet but it will probably be a mix of the previous players combined with some new ones. As you know, Alana has formed a new record label (tentatively called Relevance Records), which will release her new album. We have been meeting with distribution companies and joint venture partners over the past month regarding the release. Fortunately, the response to Alana’s new release and her independent journey has been very positive. Companies realize that Elektra did a poor job of marketing and exposing her music. They also realize that she recently turned down two offers from major labels to pursue this independent journey. The creation of Alana’s music is a natural process and our timing targets are always a little bit fluid…but Alana plans to finish the record by mid-December.

im torn on Davis...She has great style and energy and the voice is beautiful..
but her song selections have resulted in lack-luster albums IMHO... I hope she creates an album worthy of her talents... Space for sale...

I don't know about you, but I've had Fortune Cookies on repeat for the past couple of weeks. I've been unable to get "Save The Day" out of my head. Her debut album and her sophomore effort are both stellar works in my opinion. I'm patiently waiting for Alana to bless us with another project.

Alana is beautiful both her music and... well... her.
One of the finest women on earth in my opinion and a GREAT musician. Good to hear another album is coming out. I was able to catch her show back in 98 in Chicago. It has become imfamous. She broke her leg earlier in the day at the Airport and still put on a fantastic show while sitting with her foot up. She was clearly in pain but it was still one of the best shows I have ever seen. And picking Drew Zing as a guitarist doesnt hurt!! Thanks for the info. She rules. yum! "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum"

This is great news! I love Fortune Cookies, and I feel that Blame It On Me was the best album release of its year.
I hope she continues working with producer Ed Tuton.

I hope she continues working with producer Ed Tuton. Yeah, but that last one, good as it was, just fell on deaf ears. Hopefully she'll do soemthing different this time and get some of that Beyonce money. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Alana's the last artist I want to see featured with Sean Paul Well, I didn't necessarily mean she should sell out. I just hope that her next one will grab you by the ears and have her wall decorated with platinum plaques. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
