Beyonce VS Christina Auguelira

If there was a singing competition going down, who'd you think would win out of these two ?

Now I know how some of you may feel about either or, but try 2 look beyond all of that and think about how these two young ladies have the strongest voice in today's music.

So who has the better voice?

Beyonce or Christia ?

Christina's voice is more powerful. but all of that Mariah Carey vocal gymnastics and yodeling bullshit is annoying.

i prefer Beyonce's. simpler, purer, and more honest.

Christina. Without the vocal gymnastics (Beyonce does it too). I like them both, but I gotta go with Xtina.

I think Christina's voice is more powerful, yes. And seems more of a natural talent.

Beyonce's voice, due to training, and is sounding better and better over the years as she learns more control.

However, I choose Beyonce's as the better voice because it is so unique.

Nobody has the vibrato that she has. It's hard to have a signature nowadays when everything is copied. But no one can copy Beyonce's vocal style. It's all her's. Go B!

I hav 2 giv it 2 Christina. Although "Stripped" was a little unfocoused on tracks, her voice is very strong and i think one of her best per4mances of that was "Merry Christmas Baby" from the Christmas LP.

I love Beyonce though...

Christina on many counts. "Stripped" beats the pants off of "Dangerously in Love" too.

I'd probably rather have Beyonce make me breakfast though wink

beyonce--better voice, better looks (read: natural
beauty), more class, etc. the only things i dislike
about beyonce is that she A) did that stupid video
for 'bonnie & clyde' and B) did a duet with that
doofus sean paul. her worst move ever. but it's
alright.

christina can sing. not as good as beyonce imo. live
it all sounds pretty forced to me. just look at how
much she has to give to keep up that "strong" voice.
besides vocal performance, i think christina is just
completely unaware of how she wants to portray
herself. first she's this britney/girl-next-door type.
than she gets all slutty and perverted with 'dirrty'
--i didn't mind that at all though. and now she's
going for this black-hispanic-ghetto image!?

it's just pathetic! therefor, without a doubt, i choose
beyonce as my winner of this here thread.
don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain

Christina has the better voice and is sexier to me. They're both prostituting themselves to sell ___ (insert movies, music, etc.). Having said that, I think Beyonce will last longer in this business. She has the showbiz intangibles that won't flame out like Christina's will. In other words, she'll age more gracefully.

I wonder why I even bother with these. shrug

Go B!

All that vibrato is cheating. There's no power in not being able to hold a straight note

NEHI PLEASE! Vibrato ain't easy! I can hold a note fine. Vibrato is harder to pull off. So, uh, go milk a chicken!

Christina without a doubt (although I would like her to calm down a bit on the vocal rollercoaster moves. They get really annoying after a while). A straight whole note is what impresses me.

Beyonce's voice sounds exactly how someone earlier described it...trained. I also agree her voice is getting better but there is nothing really unique or spectacular about it. It doesn't sound as if Beyonce' has a "gift" so to speak. She sounds like she has a trained voice that tries to "force" power in her delivery at times. Beyonce' doesn't have the type of voice that gives people chills. When it comes to voices, her voice doesnt really do anything special for me like Aretha, Patti, Gladys, Chaka, Deniece Williams.

*side note* They both can outsing Mary J. Blige, who unfortunately gets WAY more "props" for her voice than she deserves IMO.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Beyonce has a very good voice. It IS different. Christina is a better power singer. Overall packagewise (singing, dancing, stage presence) Beyonce KILLS Christina, but if it were ONLY a singing contest, Christina would take down Beyonce, only to loose to Tamia or Kelly Price.

Who's NEHI? Anyway, as a classically trained singer, we are discouraged from using too much vibrato as Beyonce does. It means your voice is weak. It is not harder to pull off. It's harder to hold a not without any vibrato without going sharp or flat. Btw, you're very rude.

What?

I've had classical voice training, and I was always discouraged from singing "straight" tones. Vibrato is a huge part of classical training. Why do you think opera singers use so much vibrato? Straight tones strain your voice too.
