Justin Timberlake on SNL

it pissed me off to see him frontin like he can play keyboards and guitar, you know he wasnt playin a note, my opinion, he cant sing or dance either, some of his songs aint bad, only because other people produced them.

Honestly at first I thought it he was kinda funny...then...it all turned "not" funny...what a waste of a good show disbelief

9 out of 10 television performances are lipsynch. There is too much at stake for the major music companies to allow their artists to perform live on TV. What if they miss a note?? Everyone watching in TV land will know they can't sing, and their record sales will drop. Its better business to fake it for TV. After all, its all about promotion of a product. McDonalds won't show a real Big Mac on TV. They want people to eat them.

You really all think it was lip snyched, fake, etc? I don't think so but really didn't care. Justin wasn't bad in the skits but most everything he did was musical (or had dancing) in some way. Anyone see the Omlette bit where she sings "Get down to Egg Hut" or whatever. Sound very much like Prince.

Everyone knows what my favorite part of the whole episode was. When they spoofed that "melted Barbie" doll Ann Coulter. About time!

Well he WAS playing both the guitar and keyboard LIVE. If you couldn't tell that was live you have some issues. He wasn't ultra-talented or anythig, but he can definately plunk some notes.

he needs a much tighter band, or he needs to lose a few members. 4 backup singers? that's fine, but it dounded like they were not only trying to outsing each other, but outsing him as well. and the horn section was a mess, with the same problem of trying to all outplay each other, with the trumpet player taking the lead. everyone needs their mic turned out A LOT.

You're so right on the money! I thought it was me when I was watching the performance, but I kept saying, "why are all those background singers trying to outsing Justin and each other?" It was almost comical. How many people does he have in his band? Seemed like 20 people were on that small stage.

Hey what's with JT doin' this "small gigs" tour? He's coming to the State Theatre here in Detroit--I'd think he could sellout a larger venue.

And this is what's really sad. If these "stars" are the people making shitloads of money from being singers/entertainers/musicians, they better damn well not miss a note IMO. disbelief

Well, I didn't think he was half bad myself. I give him props just for taking those songs to more of a live sound- he could've just played the CD in the background and danced around. "Senorita" sounded pretty fresh with that band. Although, "Cry Me a River" wasn't all that great.

All I can say is I no longer hate this guy. I thought he did a great job on the show - the Ashton Kutcher (sp?) sketch was funny & the Barry Gibb one was great (he pulled it together after cracking up). I still don't care about/won't listen to his music, LOL, but he did a very decent job hosting that show...
