Arista will milk Toni Braxton fans one last time

R&B diva Toni Braxton will cap her decade-plus association with Arista on "Ultimate Toni Braxton," due Nov. 4. The 18-song set sports such smash R&B/pop hits as "Love Shoulda Brought You Home," "Another Sad Love Song," "You're Makin' Me High," "He Wasn't Man Enough," "Breathe Again" and "Un-Break My Heart."

The previously unreleased songs "Whatchu Need" and "The Little Things" round out the set, which also features a live version of "Seven Whole Days" and the Soul-Hex Anthem radio edit of "Un-Break My Heart."

Braxton released five studio albums for Arista, with combined U.S. sales of 13 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Earlier this year, she signed a new deal with Blackground Records.

The artist is currently appearing in the Broadway production of "Aida" through mid-November.

Here is the track list for "Ultimate Toni Braxton":

"Give U My Heart" (featuring Babyface)
"Love Shoulda Brought You Home"
"Another Sad Love Song"
"Breathe Again"
"Seven Whole Days" (live)
"You Mean the World to Me"
"How Many Ways"
"You're Makin' Me High"
"Let It Flow"
"Un-Break My Heart"
"I Love Me Some Him"
"I Don't Want To"
"He Wasn't Man Enough"
"Just Be a Man About It"
"Hit the Freeway" (featuring Loon)
"More Than a Woman"
"Whatchu Need"
"The Little Things"
"Un-Break My Heart" (Soul-Hex Anthem radio edit)

I think I'll pass. I would like to have that live version of Seven Whole Days, though but not for 18.00.

I liked several of her singles, but never enough to buy one of her albums. I think I'll be picking this one up.

What do you mean 18.00? Most places sell CDs for like $14.99 and this one will probably be on sales when it comes out so close to Chirstmas. BTW, I was pretty sure Toni only released 4 albums for Arista (unless they are counting this one). Looks a like good collection to me. I hardly think they are milking anyone. Now if they release a remix collection and allow her songs to go on budget "Best Of", they are milking! They are going after the causal fan that was interested in getting all the albums but didn't bother. This is perfect for everyone (it can't hurt Toni too much to have this album come out months before her own).

I hope that collection is wrong. The first time I say the track listing posted it had "Spainsih Guitar" which didn't get very high but now it seems to be replaced with "More Than A Woman", which was never a single. Maybe they are milking fans! Total crap!

Nope, five is accurate - she did that crappy Christmas one between "The Heat" and her last one. Don't worry if you missed it. You missed nada.

Ahh! Thank you! I forgot about that one. I haven't bought any of her CDs but always wanted to.

Yeah, I notice nothing from that CD if reflected on there (lol) but Christmas CDs never really are unless they had some kind of huge hit or made an impact on the career of that artist (Toni's left no impression at all seeing as I couldn't remember it and I'm a junkie about this kind of stuff).

don't really see it as milking. she's been around a decade and is jumping ship. perfect opportunity to collect everything together and make some money off of the people that like her hits, but wouldn't be interested enough to buy her albums (like me).

exactly. Stick on a new track or a remix (Donna Summer, Michael Jackson) If you make it, they will buy.

That Live version of "Seven Whole Days" originally appeared as the B-side of her "Breathe Again" single, which I used to play constantly.

This CD is a cool compilation.I'll probably get it as Christmas gift for my sister.

15 bucks is still too much money for anyone's CD. Especially for a bunch of songs I already own.
