Rumor has it that the EP is scheduled to come out in late November, with this being the likely tracklist... "Nothing Fails (Tracy Young remix)" "Nothing Fails (Peter Rauhofer remix)" "Hollywood (Camaione and Cilione blow-up version)" "Love Profusion (Camaione and Cilione blow-up version)" "Love Profusion (Ralph Rosario remix)" "Nobody Knows Me (Peter Rauhofer Private Life remix)" "Nobody Knows Me (Mount Sims Old School Mix)" "Nobody Knows Me (Mount Sims Italo Kiss Mix)" "Nobody Knows Me (Above and Beyond remix)" "Into The Hollywood Groove (Peter Rauhofer remix)" le sigh... i'm not enthused. i'm sick of these types of remixes. the prospects of a club-mixed Nothing Fails leaves me non-plussed, as does a Rauhofer remix of Into The Hollywood Groove. the first and last Madonna remix Rauhofer did that was any good was Nothing Really Matters i just don't think they are going to work that way. i'd love to see a radio remix for Nothing Fails, that smooths it out a bit, and an acoustic remix, and an extended mix (a la Bad Girl). Love Profusion NEEDS a remix. but just to punch it up and make it listenable (something like the Keep It Together remix). the standard club mix isn't going to interest me. Nobody Knows Me was MADE to be remixed, so that's okay, but i wish they'd put the full 10 minute version on there as well, instead of just a bunch of club mixes that sound alike. it's been a long time since a Madonna remix maxi has interested me as its own thing, rather than just as things to pick and choose from when making a club mix disc. they've really gone downhill she ditched Junior and went wtih Calderone and Rauhofer. Junior was no great shakes, but he could at least come up with some different-sounding remixes (from one song to the next, or hell, even for the same song). For the most part,I agree with you.I've been disappointed with many of Madonna's recent remixes. The "Hollywood" remixes were dreadful, imo.I'm hoping that these new remixes will be great. The "Love Profusion" remix promises to be interesting, since Maddy has totally re-recorded her vocals and sings the song in a more "aggressive" manner, according to those who have heard it. The best Madonna remix maxi in recent years was "What It Feels Like For A Girl",imo. Those remixes were cool, and there was even a Spanish version, with a slowed-down groove. | |
