hello everybody, just came back from Rufus's show in Paradiso. this little review is for the Prince fams who like Rufus too, like me. he started at a little past ten en he just wouldn't stop. played for almost two hours in his black leather jacket, 'I want sex' t-shirt and jeans. he said because he hadn't been to Europe many times before that he was going to play songs of all of his three released albums. it was quite amazing, even though the concert was unplugged you could hear the other instruments that are there on CD in his piano or guitar. he made a lot of little jokes, and we even got to hear some of his infamous laughing. it's difficult to give a tracklisting, because i don't remember the order but here's a try: California (broke a string on his guitar), Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk, Want, Complainte de la Butte, Rebel Prince, Foolish Love, In My Arms, Beauty Mark, Imaginary Love, Poses, Pretty Things, Vibrate, 11:11, Harvester of Hearts, Dinner at Eight, Beautiful Child, as well as three songs from Want Two. one of them was called Gay Messiah, and another one was written for his sister and that one moved me quite a lot, so sweet. He also performed a cover of song from a french singer (couldn't hear who) and his first song ever about America, in which he sang very low. Rufus Wainwright is like a rough diamond, his drive to perform was really big and it was a great joy to watch and listen. I have the feeling we can expect some big things from him.

I must say that Vibrate was my personal highlight. I love that song.

Then every other song he played on guitar, as he was standing just in front of Fhunkin and myself. He's quite cute. Naughty eyes. Playful smile.

Darin; just start at the beginning. I do not know ANY other album than the last one, but the songs he played yesterday indicate he is getting better with age, hehehe.

wow! i'd love to see him live. i still need to get his latest release, but I love the first 2.

Darin -- either of his first 2 are very, very good. I'm partial to the first, more people seem to prefer Poses.
