elton john

waht really cracks me up about him is they drag his old ass out for a duet anytime some new artist gets flack for saying really homopohobic comments or lyrics, and they do a duet and they hug at the end and everything is upposed to be fine... i know he did with axl rose and eminem... were there others?

oh, dear god, me TOO!!

a lot of people don't get her humor and find her really aggrivating. i think she is one of the funniest comedians i have seen. no one can work sarcastic irony like her.

my absolute favorite is still the ending of "without you i ma nothing" where she slams prince and his women, and does that great slow version of LRC, and then strips to his version.

sooo fucking funny

You're so right about people not getting her humor...PLUS she's such a powerhouse (brilliant, out-spoken and unconventionally beautiful) that she intimiates so many people.

Talking about gay rock artists, who was Joebrith? I think it was one name. I heard about him on some special.

ACCEPT's 'Balls To The Wall'!

Mid-eighties fairly succesful german metal band, fronted by Udo Dirkschneider who sounded like Bon Scott being strangled.

As far as I know none of the band were gay, but the outside lyricist who wrote 4 the band was and it wasn't until many years later when they discovered this, then promptly sacked him. rolleyes

He got away with tunes such as:

Balls to the Wall:
Too many slaves in this world
Die by torture and pain
Too many people do not see
They’re killing themselves - going insane

Too many people do not know
Bondage is over the human race
They believe slaves always lose
And this fear keeps them down

Watch the damned (God bless ya)
They’re gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you can’t stop them (God bless ya)
They’re coming to get you
And then you’ll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
You’ll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall - balls to the wall

You may screw their brains
You may sacrifice them, too
You may mortify their flesh
You may rape them all

One day the tortured stand up
And revolt against the evil
They make you drink your blood
And tear yourself to pieces

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
They’re gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you can’t stop them (God bless ya)
They’re coming to get you
And then you’ll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall
You’ll get your balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall - balls to the wall

Come on man, let’s stand up all over the world
Let’s plug a bomb in everyone’s arse
If they don’t keep us alive - we’re gonna fight for the right

Build a wall with the bodies of the dead - and you’re saved
Make the world scared - come on, show me the sign of victory
Sign of victory - sign of victory

You better watch the damned (God bless ya)
They’re gonna break their chains (hey)
No, you can’t stop them (God bless ya)
They’re coming to get you
And then you’ll get your

Balls to the wall, man
Balls to the wall...

London Leatherboys: eek lol
Walking down the main street
I see a city’s face
Boys dressed in leather
Boys dressed in lace
See the easy riders
They’re roaring down their way
They need to give full speed ahead

They’ve been bunched together
To keep their crazy life
They turn on the power
Get wrecked every night
Got some kind of feeling
Looking in his eyes
I feel the power surge to my head

London leatherboys
Nightmare’s pleasure, what you’ve done
London leatherboys
All together
All together - nightmare’s pleasure

After all the roaring
The sound of silence scares
I am of the leader
Cried in his arms
Don’t you see the danger
When we are running wild
Please, stop the games, it’s getting late

London leatherboys
Nightmare’s pleasure, what you’ve done
London leatherboys
All together

Swearing that he would do - he could not even say
Boy dressed in leather - boy died in pain
They’re the easy riders - but heroes die too fast
He was more than the best of the bunch

Best together
Lousy leather
Say what’s better
All together
London leatherboys

The fact the guy got away with this over many albums = fair play 2 him I say!
clapping lol

Jobriath. Died of Aids in the early eighties. Haven't heard a note of his, BUT I do know that Morrissey (now there's a gay rocker no one's mentioned) wanted to get him to support his 1992 US tour, only to be told that the only way he'd get Jobriath on stage was through a ouija board.

Anyway, point is, most of what Morrissey listens to turns out to be crap.

Really? I had heard that he was, and the lyrics to "Rough Boys" seem fairly gay.

Rough Boys - Pete Townsend

Tough boys
Running the streets
Come a little closer
Rough toys
Under the sheets
Nobody knows here
Rough boys
Come over here
I wanna bite and kiss you
I wanna see what I can find
Tough kids
Take a bottle of wine
When your deal is broken
Ten quid
She's so easy to blind
Not a word is spoken
Rough boys
Don't walk away
I'm still pretty blissed here
Tough boys
I'm gonna carry you home
You got pretty pissed dear
Gonna get inside you
Gonna get inside your bitter mind
Rough boys
Don't walk away
I wanna buy your leather
Make noise
Try and talk me away
We can't be seen together
Tough kids
What can I do?
I'm so pale and weedy
Rough fits
In my Hush Puppy shoes
But I'm still pleadin
Tough boys
Running the streets
Come a little closer
Rough toys
Under the sheets
Nobody knows her
Rough boys
Come over here
I wanna bite and kiss you
I wanna see what I can find

That's funny you mention that. That was a required viewing/"text" in a media criticism class while I was in college. It's a very very smart piece of work. Truly a time capsule that captures all elements of pop culture.

What about Rob Halford and Judas Priest:

Gawd Bless Him!
...and deserving of a second mention of course:

I feel very fortunate 2 call 1 of the closest people
2 Freddie 1 of my best friends, Jim Hutton:

I know Peter 'Phoebe' Freestone really well too -
but dont get 2 see him as much anymore, as He
relocated 2 Prague:

If u can get hold of a copy of either of the above books, do.
I managed 2 get 2 see this statue in the local factory where it was struck the day before it was 2 be shipped out and mounted overlooking a beautiful lake in Switzerland.
It truly is magnificent - and is so big it takes your breath away (2 coin a phrase) wink

He made a cute baby too huh? touched
