The Godfathers of Rap

Young rappers are frequently being discussed in this forum. But lets not forget the true innovators -- the artists who were the true inspiration for the first rappers.

1. Gil Scott-Heron.
2. Jamal and the Last Poets.
3. Lightning Rod (aka Kool and the Gang) feat. Jamal
4. James Brown (Brother Rapp)
