***SADE***

Why does she take so long to release a new cd? sad I am listening to her Lovers Rock album. This album has to be by far my favourite Sade album. It evokes so many emotions, however mellow it may be. King of Sorrow,Somebody Already Broke My Heart,Every Word, and Immigrant are stand out tracks IMO. I've never seen her live unfortunately. I hear she is amazing. I've got the concert on video, but I'm sure it doesn't compare. Have any of you seen her live? Which are your favourite Sade songs or albums. Just wanted to give this lady some credit for being a great artist! love

Thanks.

Yeah, I like Sade okay. I saw her once and she was pretty amazing - completely cool and in control, just like you'd imagine. I don't mind that her albums take so long to crank out - it's not like any of them are wildly different than the others, so you can take more time to fully appreciate all the little details before the next one is released.

loves me some Sade.

haven't heard all of Lovers Rock -- only what's on the live disc. great show that was!!! I was at one of the shows they taped for the DVD/CD. So we all know that I worship Prince and Madonna, right? Well, I saw the two of them, and Sade perform the same year. Sade was my favorite concert, hands down. I expected a totally mellow sit back and sway show, but it was full of energy. Awesome performer, and great band.

i think Is it a Crime is my favorite. i want By Your Side played at my wedding. Your Love is King and No Ordinary Love are faves as well.

much love to Sade!!!

very true -- it seems that right about the time I'm starting to think, "hey, when's Sade gonna do something else?" it's getting wrapped in plastic and ready to ship!

A friend of mine from Sony Music said that Sade is on their fall schedule...but he is uncertain whether it's a repackaged hits collection (like everyone is doing right now for more $$$) or more live stuff...what he is certain about is that it is NOT a new album. I have a feeling it might be "The ESSENTIAL Sade"...they have an 'Essential' series that does really well...we'll see!

I used to wonder why Sade waited so long in between releases. Now I basically savor what she has already given to us, and I know that when and if she releases new material that it will be worth the wait. I was fortunate to catch her on the last tour when she came to the Bay Area in 2001. Easily one of the top 5 or 10 concerts I've ever seen.

My fave songs and albums:
Albums: Hands down Stronger Than Pride and Lover's Rock

Tracks: By Your Side, Somebody Already Broke My Heart, Keep Looking, Clean Heart, Is It A Crime, Nothing Can Come Between Us, No Ordinary Love, Maureen, Haunt Me, Turn My Back on You, and Hang On To Your Love

I still think her songs are underappreciated. It definitely will stand the test of time, more than other female artists that are or have had more media exposure.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

nod I saw the Lovers Rock tour. It was great. She's got such class. It was sooo romantic, I should have taken my boyfriend to see her. You'll have to come along next time as well. The lighting was PERFECT, didn't overpower the music. The band would go into extended solos and jams, very jazzy. It was a great show.

I watch her DVD "Sade live" all the time. Never seem to get tired of seeing her perform with that tight ass band. I am in awe of the guitar/sax player. And his Goldtop Les Paul is on my list of axes to own.

Sade ... She could sing the phone book and I would probably buy it. One of the things I love about her is she never changed her style up. She's like Too $hort, she just does her thing and doesn't try to sound trendy or modern. Probably my favourites by her are Is It a Crime and the long version of No Ordinary Love. She's also one of those rare artists where the singles actually represent her sound, unlike a lot of artists where the label will pick the least representative song on the album because it's the most commercial sounding. I love me some Sade.

I take it you don't dig $hort. I think you misunderstood what I was saying tho. I wasn't saying that $hort is as good as Sade (That's apples & oranges anyway) ... I was comparing the fact that both of them came out in the mid 80s and still pretty much sound the same as they did back then. Sometimes there's comfort in familiarity.

her sound is timeless

there's always a hint of

well,
i think that shes AWESOME!!! she doesnt have to try "as hard" like "some" artist today, i feel that if you are creative youll have fans regardless, she doesnt need to resort to doing things for shock value like some folks today...i kinda like that fact she makes "us" wait!!!
absence makes the heart grow...

Dat's my WIFE!

well, she don't know dat yet, but when I hone my Jedi mind trick, just remember -- we're registered at Borders, Blockbuster and Williams-Sonoma.

until then . . .

Man, she made us wait 9 years b/w Love Deluxe and lover's rock, so I figure we got until about 2009 till another one drops.

In the meantime, I will continue to love these tracks:

-Your Love Is King
-Is It A Crime
-You're Not the Man
-Cherry Pie
-Love Is Stronger Than Pride
-Clean Heart
-Keep Looking
-Like A Tattoo
-King of Sorrow
Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder
