The Beatles- Unplugged (For All Beatle Fans!)

I just discovered this disk, and im very impressed by this disk. This quality isnt perfect, but very listenable and some wonderful takes!smile The unplugged disk contains around 28 tracks consisting of the tracks from THE WHITE ALBUM!smile The session is called The KinFaun Session, and they are acoustical tracks. I think AllMusic did a review on it, although its considered a bootleg album. Its a great disk!smile

Oh yeah, I believe John would've turned 63 on this day.

Actually, the best sounding and performed tracks on the disk are from John Lennon.. my favorites of his on the disk go as followed:

Child of Nature
Im so tired
Yer Blues
Me and my monkey
Whats the new mary jane
Revolution

like I said, Excellent rare acoustic versions on a reel-to-reel-tape-machine!smile

I've got it as both "The Alternate White Album" and "The Campfire Tapes", but yeah, you're right. It's a great disc. I'm not a big Beatles fan, but I do love "The Beatles" ...

I must admit I never went for the boots, but now I have to.

I overdosed on Beatles stuff the last week; the Anthology DVD box is awesome and made me sad whenever Mr Harrison was on.

Now I am listening to Anthology 3, with all the acoustic White Album songs, just to get ready for the re-release of Let It Be, without the Phill Spector "embellishments".

Pagey

I have this as The White Album Rehearsals. Its the entire White Album (minus Rev 9) in acoustic, stripped down, version, plus some other outtakes. Excellent stuff. I listen to it just as much as the official release. Harrison's songs really shine on there.

Also, can't wait for the new version of the Let It Be album. I love that album but always thought Spectors production didn't fit.

I actually have a boot disk called The Alternate White Album, but it doesnt have these paticular Kinfaun tracks.. The Alternate album I have has minor changes/differences in each track with excellent quality.. EXCELLENT!smile

This paticular one doesnt have top notch qaulity, but the quality of each song thats performed makes up for the sound. This paticular boot is John Paul and George doing the tracks for the FIRST time on a reel to reel in Georges home, which is essential to a collector of their music.. I love how the tracks didnt change too much from their original ideas.. "Yer Blues" is funky on an acoustic guitar. John is jammin this one out, the same goes for Mary Jane and the Monkey song. I like the fact that ALL three beatles are singing in just about every track (harmonies, duets) on this album, as opposed to the masterpiece, where they actually did sing in eachothers, but here its more obvious. Any serious Beatle collector should check this out. This was definantly a work in progress. I consider it a 'gem' to have since the White Album is one of the best Beatle albums... not to mention one of the most eclectic double albums to date. wink
