Don't think I've seen it. But, I did like them using Billy Wither's "Lovely Day" a couple of years ago. But, instead of going out and buying Gap jeans, I actually bought his greatest hits comp instead. ![]()

So what's wrong with making more money off your hit song ?
I like the commercial and really don't mind hearing the song in there. Just took my daughter to see EWF and she says "OOHHH that's where that song is from!". It's all good. test

It gets on my nerves with the way they've edited the song. It rubs me the wrong way for some odd, lame reason. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Yeah. Thanks, Gap, for shitting all over one of my favorite old songs with your soulless corporate bullshit. Really appreciate it - kisses.

![]() No, you're not the only one. There are certain songs/performers I don't get annoyed at being used for jingles, and others...well, it just doesn't feel right. Wasn't it a Burger King commercial where EW&F were all on roller skates with another of their songs playing in the background? That was worse. And before somebody feels the urge to preach to me about how good it is for said artist, SAVE IT. Don't waste your keystrokes. I've heard all the arguments for it. It's my pov and I'm sticking to it. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

![]() me too! is there room in that box for another? ![]() ya'll get outta that box! ![]() U're right. Screw y'all!!! I like it, and I'm not ashamed. It's a fact of life that in our culture that which is good will invariably be used to sell something. As I stated above, this used to REALLY bother me. But at the end of the day, does hearing a snippet of a song in a different context really matter to me? No, it doesn't. And with CD sales dropping, I think artists with solid back catalogues are probably more inclined to accept advertising offers than they would otherwise have been. For me, there are other areas in which I'd rather invest my emotions. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
