1. Inside - a mid tempo groovy thing where Sting sings what's on the inside (duh) and how everything is attacking what is inside. how whatever might be inside has a hard time getting out, there's something sad about this track but i love it. oh and the best lyric here is 'annihilate me with love'. i love it.
2. Send Your Love - the first single, most of you have heard it by now. 3. Whenever I Call Your Name - a duet with Mary J Blige. i like how this starts but then it gets really MOR. it will be a HUGE HIT if is released as a single. think a boy/girl movie, oscar nomination, 5 weeks at number one. bound to happen. 4. Dead Man's Rope - a reflective song but one that tells you to move on despite the past/aflictions. typical 52 year old guy writing. great. 5. Never Coming Home - kinda trancy beats, uptempo, about a girl who leaves on her guy and leaves the past behind. reads like a Springsteen song. 6. Stolen Car - he's a driver or a security guard and he steals a car and the boss's wife. 7. Forget About The Future - about making up/not sure if it's about man/woman relationsgips or world events. 8. The War - my fave on the album. it has a great Hendrix groove/guitar parts. obviously it's about George W and how he exlains that we could have not been in this world situation if Dubya had chosen a different path leading to war. the best line is at the end where he tells him "make it easy on yourself, don't do nothing' and when he sings 'can you tolerate peace?'. what a great damn track. 9. The Book Of My Life - a very sonbre track with North African percussion. lyrics are about life and how no one knows where your life is gonna lead or end. 10. Sacred Love - more North African percission. it's about love. simple. 11. my version of this cd has a remix of Send Your Love that sounds like early 80s new wave dancey. kinda cool. 12. and it has a live shortened version of Shape Of My Heart - i think he tagged this on at the end cuz it had references to war. get this album guys. it'a about love and forgiveness. in this fucked up world climate, we need to hear words like these. | |
