Andre's "Behold A Lady"

I hear all this talk about "Spread", "She Lives in My Lap" and "Prototype" but the song that knocked me on my ass was "Behold A Lady". When Dre uttered the word "Sophis-ta-funk" over the first couple of beats I knew this was the type of jam I've been waiting 10 years to hear. Not since Prince threw down with DMSR, and Cameo, Bar Kays and The Gap Band ruled the R&B landscape, have I heard something that has hit this damn hard! I just hope Prince is out there somewhere listening.

I stop just short of saying the album is off the hook. I give it a 7 out of 10 which makes it a good album. What few problems I do have with the album don't take away from Dre is on the right track. I would have liked to see the number of skits cut down as well as cutting songs like "Dracula's Wedding" and She's Alive disbelief Also putting a nice beat behind "Pink and Blue: would have taken that song to another level, although I do enjoy the song the way it is. Big Boi's disc really was a let down. Outside of "The Way You Move" and a few other songs, it's a very average collection.

"Behold A Lady" is the one song on the album that goes on too long for me. And the skit before it was ok on the first listen. Now it's just an annoyance.

My joint is "Roses." It's like Ms. Jackson's daughter, both sonically, thematically, and lyrically.

Behold a Lady is my favorite track on the album.

Is anyone a Har Mar Superstar fan? This song would fit right in on his last album "You Can Feel Me". Sounds EXACTLY like the songs on that album.
