"Just because it's 2 O'Clock....don't mean that we have to stop"....Yarbrough and Peoples have reunited!

All you Old Schoolers out there remember Yarbrough and Peoples, right? This R&B duo burst onto the scene in 1980 with the mesmerizing jam "Don't Stop The Music",filled with one hook after another...

"Don't you stop it,don't you stop, don't stop the music"

"you don't really wanna stop...nooohhh
you don't really wanna stop...uh uh"

"I just wanna rock you,all night long,to my love song
I just wanna rock you,all night long,to my love song,love song,love song"

"just because it's Two O'Clock
don't mean that we have to stop"

Well,Cavin Yarbrough and Alisa Peoples have finally reunited after taking a hiatus in 1986.They married in 1987.The duo will be performing in my area on November 2,as part of the Old School "Funkathon" concert with Morris Day and The Time, their old labelmates The Gap Band, and Kool and the Gang. That means a funky,nostalgia-filled night of classic hits, such as...

"Don't Stop The Music" (1980)
"Heartbeats" (1983)
"Feels So Good" (1983)
"Don't Waste Your Time" (1984)
"Be A Winner" (1984)
"Guilty" (1986)
"I Wouldn't Lie" (1986)

Any other Y&P fans here? smile

I remember their performance on Solid Gold and yes, the puppets were there, it wasn't trippy back then cuz i was a lot younger but I suppose seeing it now it would be kinda bizarre.

Gold edit.

All clubs should close with that song. Well if the clubs closed at 2am, then that would be perfect. I have their greatest hits. I don't remember the video. I really loved the song "Guilty."
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
