Yeppers! Hank III rocks with the best of 'em and still does his country thing. The funny thing is that music critics are comparing his country work with that of his grandfather and saying that he is on par with the original. That is a bit of a compliment in the country world... then he goes out and rocks ALL the way out with SuperJoint Ritual.

He did both! And does at most shows I've heard of. Starts with a country set, then after a break comes out with the rock! Change of costume and everything. It's fun!

Hank III is FANTASTIC!!! I love both his country and punk stuff. I'm trying to find a copy of a song he did called "Fuck Nashville." As far as I know it was never "officially" released, but he's performed it live and there's a few bootleg copies floating around out there.

I like country music that's not afraid to ROCK. And vice-versa (ever hear any of the old Stones stuff? Those boys LOVE hillbilly music).

Check out Neko Case and Her Boyfriends as well. She plays the drums in the New Pornographers but has released three country albums with her band Her Boyfriends. This young lady IS a modern Patsy Cline. AND I'M NOT FUCKING JOKING!!

You should check out Superjoint Ritual if you are a Hank III purist, even though all the music and lyrics are written by Phil Anselmo. They even have a live DVD where you can witness Hank III rocking out like Cliff Burton.
