New Info & Interview About Tweet's New LP

From another board:

August 12, 2003 First Single Confirmation
Yesterday on MTV2's Song & Strong LA LA interviewed Tweet before her performance at the Pantene Pro-Voice Concert. During the interview Tweet confirmed that her new single is called 'Thug Man' and that will be out next month (September). She also confirmed that her next album will be out in October and is titled It's Me Again. Here is a full transcript of the interview:

La La: Missy Elliott was voted as the favorite rapper. I'm sure Tweet is happy to hear that. I'm in Central Park hanging out with Tweet.

Tweet: Yes.

La La: Now Tweet. Album! We're waiting! We've been waiting! Tell us what's going on.

Tweet: I'm so excited. I'm so happy that I'm finally finished with the album y'all. It's comming out in October and it's titled It's Me Again. And I have a single calld 'Thug Man'. I'm in love with a Thug.

La La: So am I.

Tweet: Ha! And that single will be out next month. So I'm excited about that.

La La: Now Tweet, your first album was incredible. A lot of people say it was slept on. It was a great album. I was telling my friend in the trailer, 'Yo that album was sick!' How do you feel? Do you feel it was slept on and didn't get the respect it deserved?

Tweet: You know what. I do feel it's been slept on. But I feel I gained a lot of fans from it, although, even so. I'm just happy to still be here. That's why I called the next album It's Me Again. I'm grateful to come back again.

La La: Let's take a look at the video where it all started. This is Tweet's 'Oops

Tweet: (Oh My)'.

'Shook Up' is another song from Tweet's upcoming album, It's Me Again. The song features Free from 106 & Park. The song also samples a beat from Lil Kim's debut album Hardcore.

September 06, 2003 'Thug Man' Heard in Germany
A member from the Tweet News Message Board who lives in Switzerland posted that a radio station in Germany has been airing short five second clips of 'Thug Man.' According to him, the radio station also said that the full 'Thug Man' song will air on September 26, 2003 in Germany. So hopefully the same goes for the rest of the world. smile He also said that The Neptunes are supposably producing a few songs on the new album It's Me Again. After they aired the short clip of 'Thug Man' a audio aired of Pharrell saying 'A voice like her's you'll NEVER hear again' aired. So that's pretty cool to.

September 03, 2003 'Thug Man' Confirmation
The official German Tweet website has been updated. In the latest update they confirmed that Tweet's first single from her new album will be called 'Thug Man.' They also said that Missy Elliott will be involved with the next album. Additionally, they said that the album is planned to come out in either 2003 or early 2004. Elektra, Tweet's record label, emailed me a few days ago and told me that the album was slated for a fourth quarter release (October-December) this year. I'm going with Elektra regarding the next album release date. So, this isn't really anything we haven't heard before but it is extra confirmation which is always good.

Yeah, you should have bought the album!!!

Tweet's first album was released pretty early last year but it feels more like 3 or 4 years ago to those of us that played it over and over again (and thus, want another album right now!). It only had one big hit single, the catchy, "Opps..Oh My" which got quite a bit of radio play. Then there was "Call Me" which got a lot of play from a cell phone commerical. These were great songs but not great examples of the album, which is built on a foundation of acoustic guitar driven songs like "Hotel" and "Smoking Ciggaettes", songs that should have not only been singles but hits. Definately "slept on" (I think I'm using this experience right).

Got check out this album. I'm sure some suckers are selling them cheap on Ebay so if you want a deal, get it there. Well worth regular price though.

You're probably saying that because you don't like that song (which I don't blame you), but the rest of her album sounds nothing like that. You really don't know what you're missing.

Yes, Southern Hummingbird was slept on by a lot of people because they thought Tweet was an Aaliyah wannabe or some Missy-Tim protege.

The fact that her album came out at the same time as Ashanti also probably had the record label trying to market her in a similar way, but in so doing missed on emphasizing that unlike Ashanti (or Aaliyah for that matter), Tweet wrote most of the songs on her album and co-produced them as well; and she played acoustic guitar on many of them.

Her song with Bilal stands out, as does Smoking Cigarettes and a few other tracks.

I'm looking forward to her sophomore effort.

Elektra stays sleeping on Tweet. She could do much better than she is. But her label mates are Now City.. Artists from the NC Baybeee!! http://www.elektra.com/el...ndex.jhtml

One love to all those who checked out the Grey Goose Tour last year. THey were on it...before Elektra picked them up.

I digress. Tweet is a very talented woman, she could've been bigger than she is now.

She did a Verizon commercial last year that went with her "Call Me" Record. Don't know if you remember a brown skinned woman with strait Pocahontas like hair in a cab talking on her phone singing "Call Me". Excellent PR person behind her getting her that endorsement. Tweet is all over Missy and Tim's videos too. Oops was that big masturbation record of 2002..I really disliked it...but it was on fire! It must not of hit you though...
She's categorized as R&B...but she's all over on the album
