Kylie Minogue- "Slow"

Kylie Minogue is set to release her new single "Slow" on November 3rd. It is said to be an uptempo, R and B track with a lot of sexiness. It will be the first single from her as of yet untitled new album, which should be issued before Christmas.

I've heard it described as being like Britney's Neptune singles.

I liked those, but I'm not sure about Kylie doing it, she's done something with them too, so I guess she's appealing to her new American audience a little.

I was hoping she would follow through on the Fischerspooner mix of the last single and go more electro - something like Goldfrapp.

Oh well, I guess I can't comment till I hear "Slow" smile

I love Kylie, can't wait to hear that new track. I wonder if its gonna be like "Can't get you out of my head" song?
But looking forward to her new album though. I hope it releases in the US.

I heard that as well, from some guy named Neil who claims to have heard the song, but apparently he doesn't stand by anything he says. lol

Release dates have been back and forth like a fiddler's elbow, but Parlophone have finally settled on a track and date for the first single release from Kylie's much anticipated 9th studio album. And it's sooner than expected!
The new single is to be a track entitled 'Slow', written by Kylie along with Emiliana Torrini ('Love in the Time of Science') and Mr Dan ('How Things Work'), and also produced by Torrini and Mr Dan, and is set for release on November 3rd in the UK. The album, Kylie's 9th studio album, is "almost finished" and looks set for release on November 17th.

Kylie.com states that 'Slow' is "the first new track to surface from Kylie's recent recording sessions in London, Ireland and Spain". We are led to believe that the song is a mid-tempo number (and about time!), with "that whole sexy, spoken word element to it". Nothing has been confirmed regarding formats, extras or the video as of yet, nor details of foreign releases.

The album, which was until just this week scheduled for release in the new year has been suddenly brought forward for reasons we do not know, though we're assuming these reasons probably come down to record company poilitics, as it is still considered too early by many for Kylie to be releasing a new record already. We can't help being excited though, particularly after William Baker recently commented that after all the 'image' surrounding the Fever-era Kylie is going for "musical longevity" and greater credibility with album no.9.

Promotion for both the single and album will undoubtedly be full steam ahead as of now with only 8 weeks until the single hits the shops - starting with a pictorial spread in the new issue of Pop magazine, out this week in the UK.

But back in the 80s Kylie was signed to PWL, which although was a HUGE independent label with strings and strings of hits in the UK, it was still just an independent. The label that she was signed to for US distribution folded, and she never bothered pursuing any further US success.

You're just jealous because neither Madonna nor Paula can get a hit (much less an album in Paula's case...).

Madonna didn't write a song for Kylie- it was just offered to her and hasn't surfaced on anything.

Kylie's a star.

Kylie writes most of it herself, including the singles.

I think she was on the Geffen label and I don't think they folded. I'm pretty sure they released "Enjoy Yourself" without much promotion and then they dropped her. I'm quite sure they (Geffen) released records in the ninties by Cher and Guns and Roses among others.

The following tracklist is as featured on the EMI Media website (as of this morning), which is thought to be a collection of 'final tracks', but not necessarily a 'final tracklist'. We've been piecing together the various sources of information of the past couple of days (all of which have been reputable, we hasten to add), and it appears that the original tracklist may originate from an internal record company CD or 'leftovers' from the album sessions. We know for fact that many of these tracks were recorded, so original claims from the record company that "none of them exist" isn't true; their update on kylie.com today has now changed to "none of these tracks have made the final album". We would like to make a public apology to our visitors for the confusion caused, and to Parlophone for the unprecedented interest in this story from the media - which we didn't forsee (and couldn't have imagined!) - but to reiterate that the information we posted was based on previously reliable sources. From a wider perspective, it actually looks like all the attention thrown onto this album has become incredibly good publicity, and commercially we certainly don't think any damage has been done. A bit of intrigue never hurt anyone!! smile

We believe that the following tracks are *mostly* true, although as the album is still being worked on, it is highly likely to change slightly over the next week. No album title has been announced yet, and other reports about Kylie working with Fat Boy Slim and Paul Oakenfold are (thankfully) untrue (it's merely that Emiliana Torrini and Mr Dan have worked with these people in the past)! There are reports of very recently completed track/s that may also make the final cut. An official announcement will be made sometime next week.

Current tracks that appear to be in the running for the final cut are as follows:

1. Slow (Produced by Sunnyroads - Emiliana Torrini and Dan Carey)
2. Red Blooded Woman (Produced by Johnny Douglas)
3. Chocolate (Produced by Johnny Douglas)
4. Sweet Music (Produced by Ashton Thomas)
5. Still Standing (Produced by Ashton Thomas)
6. I Feel 4 U (Produced by J. Piccioni Vocal Production and Mix by Ashton Thomas)
7. Secret (Take You Home) (Produced by Rez for Rezonant Productions Vocal Production and Mix by Johnny Douglas)
8. After Dark (Produced by Cathy Dennis and Chris Braide)
9. Loving Days (Produced by Richard "Biff" Stannard and Julian Gallagher for Biffco Productions)
10. Promises/Obsession (Produced by Curtis Mantronik Additional Production, Vocal Production and Mix by Johnny Douglas)
11. Slow Motion (Produced by Spike)
12. Someday (Produced by Ashton Thomas)

Nah, she confirmed on the Parky interview I think that the label folded. It wasn't Geffen.

I preferred the other tracklist that was floating around.

I wondered if the I Feel 4 U was the Prince track.

No writing credits, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I could have sworn that I recently saw some of her videos on VH1 classic and they listed her being on Geffen. Could be a mistake on their part but then again I remember talking about Donna SUmmer on some board (who was on Geffen through most of the eighties and had many problems and few hits) and I think Kylie's name came up. Don't know for sure.

Hmm, maybe you're right. Just did a quick search on Imago and apparently she was signed to them in the US when she was signed with DeConstruction elsewhere. So that only prevented 'Confide In Me' getting a release in the US.

I figured it out. I was talking about her eighties records and you (and Kylie) must have been refering to "Confide In Me", which was released in around the same time as here as it was i Europe and only made it to #39 on the dacne charts so even if they wanted to release that album, I guess they couldn't. Here is link that shows her releases in North America and will explains things.
